Adding EFLC Content to GTA IV (With Mods)

The night clubs and interiors now are filled with music and NPCs in newest upcoming update of TACE :) A few things I missed about the video: • at 2:35, I meant to say “Swift” instead of “Skylift” • at 9:21, Niko does have a few differences such as darker hair, darker skin, and does have a few facial changes. • at 12:55, you can also see the difference on Ray - he has his pants brown from TLAD on the modded version, but pants blue on default • Jim Fitzgerald from TLAD also was replaced in GTA 4 for the mission “No Way on the Subway” • Niko’s hair is noticeably darker hair in the EFLC than he does in IV.

The main reason Johnny looks so different between GTA 4 and EFLC is apparently because at some point Johnny was planned to have customizable clothing options similar to Niko and Luis but this was cut. One of his clothing options was his vest from the base game.

Well really in gta iv Johnny is using a earlier model and it's obvious when compared, just like luis if you compared him from gta iv to that point you will see the differences.

That would be really cool but it might not work at all or at least not without significant reworking. I'd say because the game was intended for that given how the missions take place simultaneously or at the same time. They have different world states. It wasn't written with character switching in mind like GTA V where the story is one and the same. The GTA IV protagonists have stories that interwine but are separate.

one thing about the DLC characters not looking like they did in the DLCs in the base game I believe they were beta models for them initially because the only thing they changed with Tony in "Diamonds are a girl's best friend" is the sun glasses whereas Luis had a complete character model change and same goes for Johnny in his appearances in missions but Jim made 0 sense especially since his voice was completely different

I love this insight on the importance of the discontinuity between the DLCs and the game. Thanks for sharing! So one thing to note about Jim and his ‘appearance’ in “No Way On The Subway”… In GTA IV, his ped model in the GTA 4 files indicate that he would’ve been the biker who’s bald, also bulky-looking, and has the tight t-shirt on. However, when Johnny meets with Jim at that same alleyway in “Collector’s Item”, before Jim’s death takes place, to hand Jim the money, we see that same ped model but also Jim Fitzgerald. This tells me that the ped model that would replace Jim Fitzgerald in “No Way on the Subway” would actually be the other biker, the one with the long hair and gritty-looking face, who doesn’t actually speak at all and gets killed easily first. That’s what I’ve noticed, and the character fixes mod actually recognizes that by having an alternate version (more canon version) of the ped model that’s supposed to actually be Jim. So after all, he’s not the bald 👨‍🦲 biker guy. And it seems Rockstar made a mistake when identifying his ped model name when developing the game from the get-go. I hope this makes sense too. Again, thanks for sharing - I really love how others are just as immersed as I am ❤️

Tony did have an overall model overhaul. He has better polygon count, textures, and rigging (and as you mention different glasses). Same goes for the others as well that had a rework/overhaul with they designs in EFLC.

@@NotAJ that makes sense I always figured Jim was a placeholder NPC but never knew which one so I suppose that's just laziness on Rockstar's behalf then and I did notice Tony had a slightly better model recently after looking a bit closer and I also noticed Luis' voice is much more different than in Niko's story which definitely gives off signs that he was a beta model with a possibly tweaked NPC voice since his voice is a little deeper in TBoGT nevertheless it's great knowing content creators like you even give this game love because the mass ridicule I've seen this game get irks me hoepfully you'll have a tutorial on how to install this mod properly because the guy I'm watching a vid from made a 45 minute video with no commentary and it's hard to wrap my brain around as I'm new to modding games lol

I love this mod, I call it GTA 4 TACEFLC (The Actual Complete Episode from Library City.) Switch characters for Niko, Johnny, and Luis due to crossover walkthrough missions will work like GTA 5 character switch. Weapons, Vehicles, and update Characters like original version vs DLC version.

I wish rockstar would just release a remake of gta 4 adding all this and having the charachter switching between the 3 protagonists of gta 4 and adding the gta 5 car customization and clothing customization along with more clothing shops and clothes for all the 3 protagonists but you know that wont happen at all. All these years waiting for gta 4 to come back on consolles(playstation for me) just to have a port probably,counting all the references gta 4 had these years in gta online it will probably really end up with a simple port

I've always wondered why they haven't ported the game to the PS4/PS5 yet. It's so strange, considering that Grand Theft Auto IV would boost in sales for them. Unless they have some type of special deal with XBOX all these years (given their cameos at the end of each GTA IV DLC trailer), I can't see why they've ceased upgrading their games on the newer PlayStation consoles.

That would be nice, I agree - only loophole I see with that is experiencing all the three characters’ unique cutscenes and dialogue. That’s what made GTA 5 a little hard for me, but had a lot of replay-ability behind it. I wanted to go back and listen to all of the characters’ dialogue for all the missions they had collaboratively.

I have good news about that. The team who’s making “The Actual Complete Edition” (TACE) actually implemented NPCs and music in those interiors for their new upcoming update. It’s currently in BETA as we speak.

9:21 Niko looks slightly different: In IV he have shorter hair and brown eyes, also his skin lighter; In EFLC he have longer, darker hair, green eyes, and his skin darker, also his face form slightly different.

I've noticed TBoGT looks crisper graphically. Did the game technically look better than GTA IV? If so, would it be possible to import GTA IV and TLaD into TBoGT? Or too much work? If only a mod allowed to switch between the characters like GTA V while also maintaining all individual missions. But maybe have it so you can't progress unless you've done the necessary missions with each. That way you come to the point where everyone does the same mission with the diamonds exchange.

You're absolutely right about that, TBOGT does look crispier in terms of how the game looks as opposed to GTA IV and TLAD. You can see that between the comparison on the cutscenes. It's not the visual/color filter, I know that for sure, but might be something shader-related :)

R* should've just added the downloadable content to the main game and rereleased it as a truly complete edition with RDR(D)1's graphics in 2010 and kept Johnny's and Jason's appearances still the same in the downloadable content games as in the main game but with all the patches. Johnny looked scarier and more like a biker gangster in the main game.

My favorite thing about the actual complete edition mod is that tlad peds are in tbogt and unused tlad lcpd voice lines in iv and eflc. Im glad that i don't have to hear Chinese cops having African American voice lines because it just doesn't seem right tbh.

IV+ weapons and IV+ and for the real sound of the dlcs cars you need eflc vehicles for IV. The last one is a lot less compatible to other mods tho) and btw you get the content of both dlcs with these.

Does the character fixes mod also replace the GTA IV voice lines with the DLC versions? Luis specifically has a much heavier accent in IV than in TBoGT.

Unfortunately, they do not. I know what you mean too, and it is relatively evident in the Museum Piece and Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend. I think it would require a lot of work and editing just to make that possible, only because those sound files for the cutscenes aren't cut into different pieces, it's all in one recording/audio file.

Only #2 & #3 really qualify as "discontinuities", as Niko's access to weapons or cars being different isn't necessary a continuity issue, that can be handwaved away by saying he just never saw them or had the opportunity to buy them, but changed clothes and inconsistent important NPCs or locations ARE discontinuities.

Unfortunately, not right now. It would probably take a lot of work to get the script files for those activities to work in GTA IV. At some point hopefully this will be made available :)

To be honest, I’ve found that having these mods ruins less of the immersion. But, mods can make the game super fragile. So it’s really up to you! If it turns out to be a problem, then I wouldn’t ruin your experience.

Sorry that this reply is coming so late. For some reason, KZbin hid your comment because of the "1040" you wrote appearing as a link. I have considered doing a video tutorial on these mods, yes :) It may not be anytime soon, but sometime in the future. However, it is advised that these mods not be used in the 1040 version. They are specifically for 1070 and 1080, I believe. And also - thank you for the kind words! Those two are really good content creators as well. Thanks again :)

Thanks for the video! But I could never get EFLC Character Fixes working for me. I know it's probably due to my individual mod setup. I feel like the install instruction could be clearer, but again I think I had a unique case with my gameinstall.

@@NotAJ Thanks for the response. It just wouldn't load the game for me, would hard-crash to desktop when trying to start. I gave up and started over only picking the mods I wanted the very most, now I'm halfway through a playthrough with a stable setup. As soon as I beat it, I'll try again and include everything like the mods discussed here! I wish I could do it now, but map mods corrupt save files and all that.

Tbh I cant really rely on my modding skills with GTA Games coz they're too far complex. I hope you can give us a tutorial for this mods since ive crashed a lot for installing TACE. It is a hassle and cool for how you are able to insert DLC weapons in the base game.

I know the download installation for TACE can be complicated. How I've done it is download the necessities. Things like the TBOGT and TLAD folders aren't necessary to download if you already have them at your disposal (since they're folders that you might already have from newest version of GTA). And from there on, I just install the rest.

I notice many people are interesting in modding this game now, such as myself, but it’s confusing with the mods you can and can’t combine. Some people say to run 1.0.4 and it’s not true that it won’t work with a lot of mods, I downloaded a mod pack just to see if that’s the case. Anyways, between all the GTAIV mod channels, we dont really have a proper mod pack or combo discussed for 2023. Maybe that could be your niche, it would get a lot of views and help a lot of people.

Hi. I have 2 questions about the weapons and the interiors mod. 1-How can i get the weapons from that mod in the game. Can i buy it in the Ammunation or find it in the street? Or i have to get the weapons with a list mod? 2- Can i play the activities like dancing in the night clubs from TBOGT or play the games in the Lost and The Angles of Death club in GTA 4 with that interiors mod?

Sure, these are two great questions! 1. The weapons are obtained in many different ways. Some TLAD ones are found at The Lost clubhouse. The other ones would require a trainer. 2. This is not possible at the moment. Maybe in the future it could :)

I am almost certain that they should be able to work with these mods just fine. However, I do believe that TACE may cause an issue with the mods. Find out if any of the files conflict first.

these changes are not necessary. these distinct changes between the original games and the DLCs are what makes them each special and unique in their own way. I don't see these as plotholes or inaccuracies but rather different artistic choices.

I downloaded the first two mods in the link. Copy and pasted the files and added with OPEN IV the IMG files. When I try to open the game, in the starting a new game screen some stupid circus músic starts to sound and remain there forever without starting. I even tried to load the game without the second mod but the problem continues. I’m using 1.07 versión, please help!

That’s what I would’ve hoped, but I have a feeling it’s not feasible or possible to do. It’s a lot of technology needed on a game this old unfortunately. I would be shocked if someone could though :)
