Also the way vessels work is they have different types, which you can see up the top in the block info. Tool vessels will always drop tools for example. Usually flint, though rarely copper and even rarer tin bronze. Forage vessels drop cattails, grass, flax, etc. Stuff like that. There's quite a few types, and I'll leave you to discover the secrets of the rest! 😆

Just today I found a huge vein of copper in my new wilderness survival world, so I'm finally in the copper age proper. 😆 I don't know how harsh winters in wilderness are, so I'm farming as much as I can to stockpile and I've already made a fur coat and found a pair of snow goggles (don't do anything but compliment the aesthetic haha) Heads up that while it'll take a good long while, winter is definitely something to keep your eyes out for when you are eventually many, many hours into a world. :)

Food should generally stack to 64, Vintage Story just doesn't display decimals in some places, so it would have been enough if the expiration dates of the mushrooms differenced by .1 points. Rounding up does the rest. There's a couple of different ways items stack on the ground. Firewood or charcoal, for example, will essentially treat the ground like containers, which means you can put down full stacks. Some things only can put down in either the middle or the corners of a block, like the feather or the sticks. Those are better stored in containers, unless it's for decorative purposes. Generally speaking you can place down two tools on one block, one left one right. Talking about sticks, there's a nice block called layer of sticks, which is crafted with 9 sticks in the crafting grid. I generally like to use them as functional decoration, be it a small bridge or a pergola roof, for example. To expand a bit on the reutilisation of ruins. A good while back the buildings blocks used in ruins were updated, to offer a greater optical variety. Anything that shows up in the block info in the top middle of your screen as "cobblestone /stairs/slab" *and* looks like a proper block, can be broken and will give you the respective blocks. Anything that reads "cobblestone" but looks like it's missing pieces, will return stones instead (you can also tell by the addition of "Insulating block face" in the description). Any other stone block (like dry stone or ashlar) will need a tool.

Btw : for your next gameplay, you can make your world smaller. It's a million blocks in square by default. I can't play it on this size without heavy lag spikes either but on a smaller map it's running pretty smooth. And my pc is pretty old😅you also can reduce the game height. The game doesn't recommend it cause you could miss some content ( some plants just grow in high mountains) and some mountains can look a little cut off but it helps with the performance and mountains are a little easier to travel. And the landscape generator still does a good job on it. 😊And you also got lucky with all the mushrooms cause those respawn so quickly. They are an awesome food source, especially for the start 😊👍

The world size should not make any difference, @Mondchase2000. It only generates blocks as you explore. At a guess, you are exploring far enough to run your hard drive non-stop. Make sure you don't have your browser open if you run into it. Once you run out of cache, you can end up with seconds or even minutes of lag!
