Amulet spam and control is the clear intended mechanic of Heaven but there also this secondary mechanic of having 0 attack cards that battle using their defense and that's the one I'm most curious about, if only because these secondary mechanic tend to be the more cool ones despite often being the undersupported ones.

I've committed to Sword and Rune at my shop's prerelease but as we're getting closer to launch, I realized that I wasn't AS excited for Sword as I was for Rune. I did some digging and now I'm feeling kinda hype for Abyss in a way. I don't know if I want to keep up with 3 decks since this isn't my main card game, but if I like the art and the mechanics I'm tempted to wave that banner. Alucard definitely has my heart both in aesthetic and mechanics. Thanks for this video. It has helped me put it all in perspective a little bit. Maybe having a primary, secondary, and tertiary deck wouldn't be too bad. And securing the staples might be good too.

I has 202.00 store credit at my shop, was like...lets buy some boxes and see where the gods lead me. Needless to say, with all the trade-ins from the boxes and pulls I ended up buying 4 Set 1 Boxes, and 5 set 2 boxes on credit alone, and ended up with a full powered Discard Dragon deck.

Havencraft plays the control style gameplay of UWx the most I think. Boardwipes, weird top end wincons, etc. Runecraft isn't too far off, tho leans more combo than control.

I will miss pure shadow craft with there shadows but there are upsides to it being mixed with blood craft

Dragon probably has the most simple mechanics in terms of learning. Forest is also pretty straightforward

Sadly I'm a Portalcraft main, at least in digital Shadowverse, since that doesn't exist in SVE lol. So for the physical game I've mostly switched over to being a Havencraft main as I generally like control and defensive tactics. I would really like to play more Earth Rite Runecraft in SVE, but it's very mid compared to Spellchain decks, definitely not meta unfortunately. I hope it can eventually get there with more support, though the Japanese version is already 6 sets in and we still haven't gotten that one card that finally makes Earth Rite a contender.

I’m a Weiss player, but I’m curious. I’ve played rebirth for you, so this feels uncomfortably similar to YGO and M(cringe)TG. So I played Green and Red/Blue in mtg, and Weiss has the standby mechanic, so I’m leaning more towards Mage/Abyss. How are those decks? Are they ACTUALLY viable? Dragons seems like the way but if I want dragons, I’ll play actual Dragonmaid in Weiss.

Rune is a solid t2 deck and Merlin is like, forever viable. Abyss is solid as well and has some of the best disruption in the game via executioner.

@@J0k3573r It's not a true OTK. They can't -20 you. But SV is known for its late game burst damage from all classes
