its funny, the myth of the chill laid back surfer. its a myth.....mellow chill people dont pursue this sport, even at the low level it requires enormous drive, ruthlessness, dawn patrol, being hot enough to endure cold water, to choose a thrilling sport with death so close at hand, these guys are warriers, not hippies.......and then the fight surfers get into over waves, the territorialness. maybe the original hawaiaans were mellow, but the rest is myth. and at the pro level these guys are like navy seals...and proof of all this at the low level is how agro and irritable surfers get when they can t get into the water, or its flat for weeks at a time...drugs and alcohol on topo of that...its impressive, but no chill.

someone invent the smallest oxygen tank ever called one breath to be sewn into the suit with a lapel placed valve, maybe a bite through valve stop to release one full lungs air at calculated pressure for water clear of lapel mini mouth piece and manageable pressure for inhale.... ps. been watching alot of big wave vids so might as well dump this here to, have no actual knowledge of big wave dangers though.... small strobe somewhere surrounded by that reflective fabric..... rescue diver on chopper that can drop on passed out surfer if jet skis cant reach because of set, chopper prob not out for super long but it already burning gas through a rescue diver on there

They would if was just a small bottle but in the real world it takes a complete set of gear to work and don't explode their lungs, so they chose to use inflate jackets so they can go to the surface and be rescued.
