He was a crazy, psychotic killer. But, when he said, "All of it... Right down to peaks you haven't touched yet, dreams you haven't dreamed, and worlds you haven't conquered. The mind is endless. You put me in a dark solitary cell, and to you that's the end. To me... that's the beginning. There's a universe in there. There's a world in there, and I'm free." It actually sounded poetic.

He wasn't as insane as people made him out to be. He had some deep wisdom amidst the eccentric answers he gives to to the media when they bring it out of him. I find myself coming back to his interviews simply because I find more and more pieces of wisdom from him.

Manson has a higher consciousness than the regular person that's one of the reasons he acts so crazy. He literally feels the world different. he is not that body but he is the present/consiousness- this way he is eternal. you have to understand consiousness to be able to understand my comment. The good and bad are products of the mind/thought and time. Consiousness is present therefore out of the mind and time.

Also, according to wikipedia, the closest thing to actual murder that he did, was the "Bernard Crowe shooting", in which Crowe did not die. Now, if im mistaken about all of these facts, please explain to me otherwise, in detail please.

@KoivuTheHab That's a good question. Now that I think about it, one of three things could have happened if he was let out on parole: 1. all the stuff that happened about 40 years could happen again. 2. someone would most likely kill him. 3. he probably can't be let out due to the question, "who is going to take care of him?" I didn't know he was THAT crazy until recently.

There was something screwed up in his head, but it wasn't entirely his fault. His childhood was fucked up as hell. His single mom drank, and got arrested when he was only 5. He lived with his aunt and uncle until his mother was let out on parole. She couldn't take care of him and tried putting him in a foster home, but there wasn't any room. So he was sent to a school for boys, which he ran away from to get back to his mother, who rejected him. Then he started robbing grocery stores.

Soooo the state of ones sanity is how one is judged to be evil or not? But what is truly evil? The person who hurts someone to for the sake of making that person and everyone around him suffer? Or the person who doesn't know if they are hurting someone or even knowing what hurt is? I'd like to hear responses. I'm intrigued in the way people think, but especially how Charles and people like him think. Without the crimes, is he not a generous by our standards?
