One of the thing I love the most is that all his friend knows there is something "different" about Natsume. Touko and the Albino Crow thing, Shigeru and the destroyed room as Natsume did the same as Reiko, even Nishimura and Kitamoto had experience something weird. But they still care for Natsume and stand by him not trying to force him to anything 💕💕

In generell we learn we have to fit in to be accepted and his former experiences all stem from people pushing him away cause he made no sense to them . . . but do we actualy need to understand every facet of someone? All of them are very aware that they will never be able to understand him, but still they are able to see his kindness and decide, that it is enough to love him anyway. In the end that is what love is, despite differences and things you do not understand deciding they are still worth it and care about them anyway.

This song is so perfectly ironic for natsume. IN the beginning, there really was no one to cry for him if he passed on. but now, he has so many people who care for him, humans and youkai. I love seeing our little bean be so loved T^T

my favorite line is near the beginning. I can't remember the exact wording but it was something like, you have to learn to lie before you can learn to tell the truth. It is just so perfect for him and his situation growing up. He had to learn to hide his powers as a kid but later got to see there were some people he could trust. This song is just perfect for him in general though.

I've been reading the manga since the start years ago, but it was while watching Natsume say it's ok to himself and his dead father and then subbing that really broke me. Such a well writen story, I want to go in the anime and hug him so bad. Also his story his really sad, but the anime/manga don't make you feel pity. You just understand him to much to not cry at the end. Hope one day I can buy the anime in blu ray or at least dvd so I have it forever

I'll bet Nastume Takashi is here to repay the debts his grandma, Natsume Reiko did. Its sad how Buddhism works sometimes (CORRECT ME IF IM WRONG) But you usually come to this life to repay a debt, receive merits or to experience something new. No one truly turns to ashes just reincarnates or re-born. But with that being said, Nastume Takashi is one of the bravest kids I've even seen with no powers, no skills, no athlete base but still loves to help, get involved with other beings.

two random theories I regard as "canon" Nyanko senseis constant eating is curious given the fact, of how often he talks bout eating Natsume. He also is not the only yokai mentioning that Natsume is tempting in that regard so what if staying with Natsume is actualy a struggle for him and his exsessiv eating a byproduct the hunger being with the kid creats and therfor is mostly a means to distract himself? Natsume falls rediciously often without takeing any damage, got cured by a medicin that supposedly only works on yokai, has slited pupils, yokai get confused about his aura if he is human or not. . . I am very sure, that he aint fully human and Reiko probably was not either. Seein seams to run in families, but beside him and her we do not get any mentioning of spiritual power or seeing things.
