Hey all and welcome back to another Halo 3 campaign mod showcase! In this video, we will be checking out another custom Halo 3 campaign, this time having you play as a Zealot of the Covenant defending your brothers from the Banished forces trying to take the Sacred Icon. This is Mysteries of the Mountains, created by weaver900!

Sequel to "The Secret of Sandtrap", the crack Covenant team is attacked by Banished! Will they be able to recover the Sacred Icon, or will the Banished defeat them?
Drive Scrarabs, Phantoms and Banshees as you chase down the Banished! For the Covenant!
Featuring custom dialogue, enhanced co-op support, music, enemy elites with completely reworked AI, and over 2500 lines of scripting, this is weaver900's biggest project yet.
This mission lasts around 40 minutes on normal solo.
Credit to Calantorn for the custom Brutes, Grunts and Hunters!
While a little difficult in some areas, I think this mod is amazing! The story is really cool, fighting the Banished is fun, using Phantoms and Scarabs in battle is incredible, and overall this just feels like a very well made mod! I'm going to have to go back and try out Secrets of Sandtrap, but this is worth a play!

The Banished units in this mod look so badass, especially the Hunters. I also didn’t expect you to fight with that Spartan in the end, even if it was short lived. I hope this mission gets a sequel!

It kind of makes this mod cannon to me I mean ik the humans wouldnt fight along side the covies but ik as long as the flood are the massive threat they would have no choice but to put there differences and hatred on the side if they wanna make it out alive against the parasite

I love the idea of hunters carrying different weapons. Like one with the old fuel rod launcher and one with the laser beam hunter cannon. It can definitely get confusing trying to distinguish whos on your side though but i love the armor changes

Haha, thank you! I tried my best figuring out the depth of field scripts and setting them properly, and getting cool camera movements despite the camera scripts being weird and not really being used in the vanilla game. I got a bit lazy towards the end, but I'm glad someone noticed my efforts at the beginning :)

The Vibrant Red the Banished have is so cool in the Halo 3 engine. Honestly. I can tell they really went all out on the sequel mission! Man. The modding scene for Halo is blowing up amazingly with the new tools!

Even though I really don't care for the Banished and I don't like how 343 is trying to push them as the next big alien faction, this is a fantastic and well-made mod. The custom Banished enemies look pretty good in Halo 3. My favorite part is having elites and brutes fight together, with brutes acting as shock troopers and security. What would've been cooler is to have us fight against human marines. Just lower their health so they're less annoying.
