So with a shut off at -5 calvin, this battery wouldn’t be useful to run ice fishing electronics in the Midwest US?

It could have been the BMS had a delay. I wouldn't bring this much battery ice fishing. Check out my ice fishing box build video.

This particular battery, certainly. I’m looking at their 12v 20ah battery, but it needs to withstand the cold. I want to use it with a Garmin Livescope plus and a Garmin 126sv.

@@BradCagle Thermal switches have a lag time in heating up to their surrounds. Also, the lowered load was still were putting some more heat into an already overheated unit. Then, there was also a thermal switch lag time as the interior air temperature slowly lowered before the unit started working again. A T Burke

Thanks for this review! Just a quick question on the Growatt inverter/charger. I hear the fan in the background, but it doesn't seem "that" loud. Is it louder when you are running the charge function of the unit? How do you compare the fan sound in this Growatt to other inverters that you've used? I'm considering a 24v unit to replace ALL of the system in my Skoolie. This is the first time I've really heard them running, and would love your information in this! Thanks!

Can you review the HSQ charge controllers they have Low temp cutoff & they have an affiliate program

It looks like the 60A HSQT has the low temp cut-off. I should be getting the Litime 60A charge controller for review soon, and they look identical. It will be interesting to see if that one has it.

@@Roll2Videos yes Helios is the OEM manufacturer supposedly Helios app works on the HSQ & Litime the HSQ ships with the low temp cutoff turned off you have to turn it on in the settings FYI I’m looking forward to your review

Yes! In many of the batteries the internal load carrying wires are too small. That cheap construction raises the case's internal temperature and wastes power the user will not get out of the battery. We can always reward the shyster tactics by buying another battery from them to double up so the substandard parts will be less stressed at the same load. When is the last time you took apart a battery where the internal power wires were rated at, or higher than the claimed output? I remember in the 1950s when the lower line automobiles were sold with tires with a lower load carrying capacity than the vehicle's gross vehicle weight. Many of them held up under the over tire rating weight situation......... until they didn't. A T Burke

What would you do about the car? Make it into a dually 😂 I have noticed they undersize the wires. Are they saving that much money by doing it? 🤦

@@Roll2VideosWhen I bought new, I always negotiated the correct size before buying. Also, I liked to get a size over for tire tread life. 5% more cost for a larger tire usually meant 20% more tread life. I still have my 1954 Pontiac. The stock tires were 7.10x15. There was a factory option for 7.60x15. I bought the larger tire and have replaced at that size for almost 70 years now. A 7.10x15 4 ply is rated at 32 psi for 1550 pounds each for a total of 6200 pounds which was plenty. However the factory recommended tire pressure is 24psi which only gives 1150 each for 4600 pounds total vehicle weight. The car with heavy extras like Hydramatic and A/C, plus weighs over 3800 pounds. Add 6 big guys at 200 pounds each and you have 5000 pounds even with an empty trunk. Car pools to work were often 6-7 people (yes, not all at 200 pounds). BTW the entry level Pontiac came with 6.70x15s. Don’t want to go there. I’m using deep cycle lead acid for my standby LF inverter. I did not switch to LIPO4 2 years ago because I wanted to store at 100% charge to have max watts available for hurricane problems. I float at 13.5v to maximize battery life and do not cycle. I will probably go LIPO4 next year but thanks to a few guys like you I will know to get one in a screw top case. I can then replace the internal wires with the proper size (plus maybe a little extra). See, I learned something from you! Thanks, A T Burke

@@atburke6258 thank you! I wouldn't recommend LiFePO4 for stand-by or if someone is taking their RV or Camper from park to park and plugging into shore power, keeping the batteries fully charged. LiFePO4 likes to be used. Lead likes to be at a high voltage. But the price of LiFePO4 has come down so much that maybe the replacement value compared to lead isn't that much different.

I'm looking at one of these for a trolling motor battery on a boat. But there is limited space where it will go. Could you provide real world dimensions of this battery? Is it really 9.65 inches tall at the case or is that to the max terminal height like they measure some regular lead acid batteries. Thanks.

It's 9 7/8 to the top of the terminal and 10 1/4 with one cable lug and screw. Sorry for the delay. Is that the info you need?
