This is right wing extremism at its finest. Gay and Trans people have the constitutional rights to freedom of speech, expression and individual liberties and the pursuit of happiness. I'm European and though I don't agree with every US military operation I have a huge respect for the American soldier. I regret it so much that I didn't go to USA in my teens to become one of you. Back then Reagan was your president. He ended the cold war and liberated half of Europe from communist oppression. You American soldiers fought communism all around the world since WWII and that led up to our liberation. Here in Europe it's already forgotten. I hope you remember and take pride in it. I am a partially disabled combat veteran of the United States Navy. I look at where our country is today and I wonder if my service and sacrifice was worth it. All most veterans want is for our country to love us as much as we love it. But, lately we feel that our country hates us and condemns us for what we fought for. But, then I hear songs like this and it gives me hope that not all of my fellow Americans hate us. I love my country and everyone in it. I would do it all again if I had to.

It hit me in the feels too. I guess for me because with all the hatred felt from lies the media tells we forget we’re all human, we all have loved ones, we all have emotions, we all want to raise our kids safely, we all want to give them protections from the evils of the world, and as parents we’re failing because so many things are taken out of our hands. It hits hard for me because no matter what “side of an aisle” your on we know what was said in this song is 100% factual and yet still we can’t come together even for our kids. Out of all the Tom McDonald so far that I've heard, this chorus is his best and gripped me emotionally more than the other songs. The melody is beautiful, the rap verses are good and just remind us of what we already know and how difficult and confusing it can be navigating through the madness to find inner peace but peace around us as well.
