No one can force Malaysia to change by following international standards in governance but missing the boat also mean investors have their reservation and valid concerns in govt transparency and systems.

Always keep your composure and be confident that the boat will come to you. Never in your life that you think you had missed any boat. No one can foresee the future. The boat that you thought is a boat might be a disaster.
We only can move forward and go better…others is pass only can be lesson learnt and be history.

I really enjoyed learning about this important historical event. In the aftermath of the 2010 financial crisis that affected Europe and US, the same decision confronted the governments of Italy and Greece.
No matter which way you choose, human is human, always easily falls into the greed of everything. That might be the real cause of the failure or success. No matter which way you choose is the same.
The best answer was when you read back what happened to Indonesia Riots after IMF intervention that forces food prices to goes up and hit the poorest people the most, further escalated to religious issue. Isnt that ironic when George Soros that played the Asian currencies to his own advantages, then IMF who also belongs to Western countries stepped in to help the country economic to recover to save the country? I think that would not convince the locals and places the rich in the worse scenarios. If to-date, Malaysia economic, finance and banking system didnt improve, blame the last few government which are not keen to improve when Malaysia recovered so fast after 97 Crisis. And still continue its complacent position when our neighbors are working hard. The 97 crisis had bankrupted many companies, people forced to commit suicide, but who wants to be in that position in order to restructure the economy? I think we should look at things and decision made during that very particular era. Dont compare those days with today’s policy... different time different policies.. this is why competency is very crucial..
A more transparent and open system will fuel its citizen desire to grow and contribute to the nation growth. This has been shown in Korea, how Samsung jumped from a Cintract Manufacturer into a World Class Leaader that is totally unimaginable back in 1995
