Y Giler Arms Pub and Campsite Tour ¦ Rhydlydan, North Wales

Just a short review and tour around Y Giler Arms pub and campsite in Rhydlydan, North Wales. We had a really great weekend there and wanted to share it with you in case you need a campsite in the area. Catering for campervans, motorhomes and tents, the site has really picturesque grounds and views over the Welsh mountains. So it makes a great base for exploring the local area, or even just chilling out on site!
We have no connection at all with Y Giler Arms, and our visit was as normal paying customers.

The campground and town are just lovely. It’s great how y’all just basically pull off into the grass and just camp. The pond looked so peaceful, and of course what a great pub and food. ❤

Grass sites like this aren't so great in the wetter months! 😁 Be we do like these very simple ones in the Summer, and they are usually a bit less expebsive, which helps! All the best and see you soon👍😊

Cheers Terry. It would make a good base for doing some of the Welsh mountains, but we just had a chilled out weekend. The local footpaths we tried were a bit frustrating. Poor access etc. ATB👍👍

You sure got the good weather as well as a nice campsite, looked nice and quiet too, I hate them when they are packed. The pale ale looked refreshing and when you can have it outside it makes it all the more enjoyable. Loved the setting sun, nice break away, cheers Alan

Hi Alan. It was a fantastic place to chill out. Walking the local footpaths was a bit frustrating. A lot were blocked or overgrown, and badly maintained stiles etc 🙁 But we still had a laugh bushwhacking! That beer terrace was fantastic, overlooking the little lake! Just the job after a hot day doing nothing much👍😁

Hi Simon. Yes, a good base for doing some of the big ones, but wasn't going to inflict that on Maria 😁 Some of the local walking was a bit frustrating, with blocked paths and poor access. But we had a great chilled out weekend. All the best & take care👍😊

Bore da, Anna! We really enjoyed it there....but only found out they were Welsh speaking on the last night! So not much chance to annoy them with my beginners Welsh! 😂 We did finally get to visit Basingwerk on the way home too. Fascinating place! Hwyl!👍😊

Hi Mark. It was a great spot to chill out. The only downside was some of the nearby walking with blocked paths and poor access, but it allowed more time for chasing damselflies with the camera!👍😁

It was a great little spot to chill out. Some of the local footpaths were frustrating though. Blocked, overgrown, disintegrating stiles etc. Agree on the Purple Moose beers, and they seem to be doing well. Seen them in quite a few pubs in North Wales. All the best & catch you soon👍

Hi Dave. It did take some finding with school holidays not quite finished! 😁 Great place to chill out and wandercaround the lake etc. I only had the little compact camera, which was hunting to focus, but still a stunning sunset sitting right outside the van. That Piws Mws Eryri Pale was rather nice too! 😁 Many thanks for watching!👍😊

Nice site just a shame cars are not allowed on with tents! Especially with amount of equipment you need with the tent. Pub looks nice! Cheers for review!

Hi Raymondo. It was a very short walk from where you could unload, and I guess it does keep the grass in better condition. There was also a lower field that they did seem to let people drive onto. So it looks like they've got most options covered. The pub was great, and had a lovely eating area overlooking the lake! Cheers for watching! ATB👍😊
