Unless people have no other options, real estate investment in Ethiopia is garbage. For those with foreign currency of any country, I suggest you keep your money where it is unless you plan on moving to live in it and it is NOT an investment. It’s just better to live in your own house than renting and this is the only reason to buy. Land, construction and finishing material is so expensive right now so when developers add their profit on top the cost becomes super inflated. I feel sad for our people that home ownership is unreachable now.

In ethiopia it’s very common for builders to abandon you after receiving money from you and leave the rest of problems for you to bother with. If I pay this much money to buy your property I need 24 hrs security,plumbing services and authorities to deal with my neighbor. The price of those apartments must be an outrageous joke. Have you seen the size of the toilets 😭 suppose you're expected to shower on top of the toilet sit? the 3rd bedroom room won't fit a single bed unless we start breeding exotic birds or adopt chewawa? technically useless space. I mean who in the right mind would pay 30mil $500k for that? she actually said nice view 🤐 If you're living abroad save or invest your money & by the time you ready to buy a second home you can buy a beautiful home with big garden from $200k to $250 in spain, Turkey , Greece, Cyprus or even there're some popular destinations in Africa with much better health care then ours tbh. Ask yourself what can you actually achieve with $500k.
