Causality cannot be Altered
Each person is responsible for their own liberation from birth and death, and each person must fill their own stomach. Fellow Practitioners, though Buddhas and Bodhisattvas are infinitely compassionate and possess boundless supernatural powers, they cannot alter causality. Each of us bears the consequences of our own actions, and we alone must shoulder them. The evil deeds we commit will inevitably result in suffering for ourselves; this is known as "as you sow, so shall you reap." This is what the Buddha's teachings refer to as "planting melons yields melons, planting beans yields beans"; "planting goodness yields goodness, planting evil yields evil." Our own karma cannot be borne by others, not even by Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. It is said that "one who commits heinous deeds cannot survive the bad outcomes"; if we sow evil, we will undoubtedly reap its consequences ourselves-this is called "you reap what you sow."
