Your work giving me an inspiration... may be I try with crystal glaze layered with dark color. The metallic glaze is attractive but sometime, fail acidity test. Movement of design is very attractive.

Thank you very much for watching. The name of the glaze is manganese luster. This glaze was made a long time ago. Now we cannot make a new one because the raw material is not available

I have never seen a clay as course as the ones you use. Can you tell me what kind it is?

Thank you very much for watching my video. The clay I used this time is called Shigaraki clay. This clay is mined in a place called Shigaraki in Japan. It is quite a popular clay in Japan.

いつも拝見してます　独創的な作品見るのが待ちきれません。 いつも黒色土ですが焼くと白色になるんですね　種類はなんですか　また釉薬名も 教えてください　陶芸を始めて日が浅いのでよろしくお願いします。

yosie ogawa さん ご視聴ありがとうござます。私が使用している土は近所にある「日陶産業」という所から仕入れていまして「No28 荒目6号土」というものです。見た目は黒いのですが乾燥し、焼き上げるとかなり白っぽくなります。成形しやすいので主に使用しています。 釉薬は「マンガンラスター釉」と言います。ただ金属を主体にしている釉薬ですので食器として使う場合、酢の物やレモンなど酸のあるものをのせると変色してしまう場合がありますので注意が必要です。
