Always remember that respect is earned and not given. Accent is something that you can reduce but if you can communicate clearly, you are okay. Excellent team and I like it. Thank you very much. I already subscribed to your channel.

Yes it’s true. There is discrimination against work colleagues that have Northern or Cockney accents especially if they work in white collar professional jobs such as banking, finance, law firms. Colleagues tend to form groups and mix with people of their social class. Thank you Vincent and Chrissy for pointing this out to Hong Kong workers in the UK. I would say this is the same with kids that attend private schools versus state schools because class status and where they come from and where they were educated matters.

It’s called class divide. I am sure we see this in HK too. Those who were educated in HK versus those who went to boarding schools and attended top Ivy League universities. The CV itself can tell a lot about a candidate’s background.

I don’t understand why HKers didn’t know about this. Didn’t they read British novels- Pride and Prejudice, Jane Eyre, North and South?
Vincent, 你講到 足球員,英國人本身就有個說法: “Football is a gentleman's game played by hooligans, and Rugby is a hooligans' game played by gentlemen" - Winston Churchill.
