The worst advise, my opinion is, to ask the child to report/talk to teacher. The first thing I would try to understand is that, is the teacher AWARE of that (without the child reporting the incident)
Thanks for sharing. Very valid points. But one thing very important which parents don’t realised. Especially Asian or HK parents who are not exposed to other cultures previously, they always thinks what they’ve learned when they grew up is always right, and imposed to their kids. 1) we parents are not always right, 2)what we learned 30 years ago may not be valid today, 3) did parent learn and aware what’s the current world, culturally and general understanding of the world. Eg KZbinr is nowadays a job and do parents want to accept that
I am in NZ; I was a high school Technolgy Teacher in Auckland. NZ school system is great. Helicopter, "Every kid promote, only I, the teacher, repeat" So form 3 students might not be able to calculate 26-16. Maths teacher needed to offer them Lego blocks to count. When I asked a form 5 student about his future. He simply answered me, Work and Income, the government benefit department. High school girls can choose a good professional, MUM, fucxing around and farm kids for benefits.
