I was 16 when I watched the anime, I'm 32 now and rewatched the series last year and cried even more. I will always wait for an ending to this story. Nana stays with you forever.

Same girl, same. I'm about to be 32, I can't believe how time flew this fast. After reading the manga, I remember when the anime first aired on Mtv, we were obsessed. I remember being like "woooow imagine being a 20 years old". Yeah. 😭 looking at all the gadgets that I still have, all bought during this era (included the 2 live action dvds! It was rare back then..) the nostalgia hits hard. Everything was so special when I read Nana. It was my first manga. And now, even after all this time, the end of Nana will never see the light 😢
Proud owner of this manga series, the anime and both films. This series meant so much to me in my late teens and early 20s. The memories I have of it now, in my early thirties, still touch me to this day. If anyone isn't familiar with this story, please give it a chance. The anime is especially beautiful! Mika Nakashima did a terrific job in her role in both films as well. All the musicians involved with the NANA project have amazing catelogues of music both inside and out of the franchise; Mika Nakashima, Yuna Ito, Anna Tsuchiya, and Olivia Lufkin. Also worth noting is the impeccable HYDE (L'Arc~en~Ciel), who wrote the first film's main theme, "Glamorous Sky", and has produced two cover versions of this song on his own. NANA meant a lot to musicians across Japan, and had a few official fan compilation albums dedicated to the project, by Japanese musicians you may already know and love. I know this post is long, I just really want to encourage any Westerners who may be curious about this series to give it a try. Even if the main story doesn't always suit your needs, there was a wealth of incredible music created just for this series. And I want to end by thanking Ai Yazawa for creating such an incredible series. Her style is incredibly unique, and her storytelling is Top Notch; she tends to tackle "touchy" and interesting subjects in all of her work, and always gives her readers a lot to think about. Another fantastic series to check out by her is "Paradise Kiss", which is incredibly different from NANA, but handles many of the same themes (love, coming-of-age, fashion, music, gender, sexuality), and also has an incredible sountrack! If anyone actually read all this, kissu.

Btw is the manga finished now? I read the manga when I was in middle school (I'm a mother now) lol but then the manga didn't update anymore so I don't know the ending

I love Nana but wish I never heard of it. Nothing worse than loving a show that will never have an ending and stopped at a horrible cliff hanger.
