For my Japanese friends that may not know, this is a direct adaptation of the American Civil War song “Marching Through Georgia”, about William Tecumseh Sherman’s campaigns through Georgia in 1864.
As a Texan, this song sounds like something you'd hear in America with the violin ,or fiddle, and guitar. This was a blast to listen to!

@@VictorianChinese1860 Wel there you go! I'm a bit of a Luddite and didn't see a way to translate it. Thank you for the translation of the song's title! So it's a Japanese rendition of an American Civil War song?

@@OasisTypeZaku They just used the melody and changed the words. The Japanese song is titled Song of Tokyo and it describes street scenes.
Does anybody know where I can listen to his album „Violin Enka“? Neither iTunes nor Spotify seem to have it in their libraries. I would also buy the album as an MP3 download, but I don‘t want to order the CD from Japan to Germany. Can anybody help me?

Hans Giebenrath youtube is only way to listen or downroad. I found at amazon in japan, price is about $20. Try to find amazon usa.
Is this song related to the Great September 1923 earthquake?

It's related to the Russo-Japanese War, since the Japanese sang this as they were going through Port Arthur. It also happens to be to the tune of the Union Civil War song "Marching through Georgia." It's like freeing slaves at 7 and watching anime at 8.
