In my state they are allowed on roads which is North Carolina. I own one and love having a small truck, its over 25 years old and yet still gets double the gas mileage than most American trucks. I just wish they still made all the parts for us in the US. We just want practical trucks for City, farming, and off-road uses. Not only are they cute but they get great gas mileage and reliable. I wish one day the United States makes them legal one day brand new.
It's true that they are trying to ban the Kei truck in the United States. They don't want to stop selling us big trucks for $80,000 dollars. In North Carolina I'm able to drive a Kei truck on the road because it was passed as a law in 2019 for my state which was the first to allow these to be driven on the roads. I really love how practical my over 25 year old Kei truck is and that it gets double the gas mileage than any American truck.
@@ぬるぽフナ件氏sadly true, I own a Kei truck in North Carolina and I love it. Most Americans are buying bigger and bigger vehicles even though it's not practical or reasonable. They want smaller and smaller phones but when it comes to vehicles they let car manufacturers trick them to think bigger is better. I hope that one day we can have new kei trucks and vehicles in the United States since people are starting to see their benefits
Hi, I'm from North Carolina in the United States, I own a Kei truck where it's allowed on the roads. I pay $500.00 every 6 months on insurance for my Suzuki carry DD51T 5-speed 1995 Kei truck. It's my only vehicle other than my bicycle as my backup. In North Carolina we can drive on any road that has a speed limit of 55 or less. This means I can't use the interstate but that's okay with me as I use my Kei truck to drive around the city. I do plan on doing some off-roading if I go hiking in the mountains but I mostly use it for city driving. It's been great on gas, it gets 3 times the gas mileage than most America trucks. It's easy to park and it's cute. People always ask where I got it and love it. The only reason why we have big trucks is because the automakers are trying to force us to buy them by not supplying us smaller ones. The bigger the trucks they sell us the more money they make because of stupid laws and taxes. I'm fortunate enough to live in a state that allows Kei trucks, I just wish we could buy newer ones or at least get older parts easier. It would be nice if Suzuki made all parts again for the US market so we could have nice things. In time I hope that the USA lets Suzuki come here and sell us Kei vehicles so we have options to buy smaller vehicles that are more practical on gas and more affordable. I'm tired of automakers trying to sell 4000 ton vehicles to Americans, it's bad for the environment and for the safety of the people. Hope that information answered your question 😅
In North Carolina in the US we are allowed to drive Kei trucks since 2019. We were the first state to allow it. We buy them because US automakers I'm trying to force us to buy big giant monster trucks that use 3 times the gas as a Kei truck. Our vehicles are just not very practical and way overpriced. Our vehicles in the US are deadly to pedestrians, bicyclists and any vehicle that is smaller, becoming a real issue. We have quite a few states that now allow kei vehicles but it's a struggle for some states. Sorry to hear that Japan is having a thief issue. We Americans that love these trucks try to only buy parts that are from a reputable source. As for motors being stolen I don't know how that is being caused by us buying trucks, we don't normally buy motors. If the motor goes out it's normally cheaper for us to buy a new used kei truck.
