Thank you Nick-sensei for all your helpful videos and teachings as always. I would like to share a story that was funny in my childhood. I’m okay with puppies now, but still afraid of big-sized dogs because… I was riding a small bicycle around my house, maybe it was about 5 or 6 years old. A big dog near my house always easily barked at people even when I saw it riding a bicycle. One day, I was about to pass the road in front of the house with the dog riding a bicycle, I stared hard at the dog because it made me annoyed just since he always barked at me whenever seeing me. I just thought the dog was strapped to the house pole or tree, and he started barking harder, but I was NOT afraid of him just because I was believing the dog was leaded to. But the dog started barking harder and harder and coming to me gradually, and suddenly I got on my bicycle and started pedaling SO quickly. As I tried to look back riding my bicycle forward, then the dog was running after me!! I was pedaling and pedaling faster and quicker! For about thirty minutes or so, I don’t remember the time exactly now, but I was playing like a hide and seek with the dog, which I absolutely didn’t want to… I’ve never forgotten that me being threatened toward the big-sized dog at that time. Lol Due to that experience, I’m still afraid of big dogs. Lol Thank you for reading my long story, Nick-sensei.☺️ If you find anything mistakes in grammar or expression, please feel free to correct it for me. Thank you.☺️🙇🏻♀️

I don’t mind if you would like to share my story. I forgot to write about it in my previous comment. Thank you for all your teaching.
Hello Nick. I really like this topic! I’d like to share my episode. When I was a new employee, something embarrassing happened. All employees were taking part in a 6-day training camp except me. I started taking part in the camp on the third day because of a Buddhist memorial service. After work, I was too exhausted to talk with co-workers, so I went to the bathroom alone to take a quick shower. When I took off my clothes and contact lens in the dressing room, I heard someone was a taking shower in the bathroom. I didn’t care if others were there because I used to live in a dorm for 6 years. I entered the bathroom which steam was rising. Meanwhile, the person who had just finished taking a shower turned around and shouted. “ Oh, no! What are you doing here! “ I couldn’t see her clearly without my contacts, but I was sure the person was a man! He was my boss. Actually, I mixed up the men’s bathroom with the women’s bathroom. I said “I’m so sorry, sir!” And ran away as fast as possible. It was the most embarrassing moment in my life so far.

You'll never believe what happened to me on the Yamanote Line a few years back. When I was getting off the train, an older man next to me took hold of 2 straps, hoisted himself up like an olympic gymnast and made a perfect turn. It was a pretty unforgettable experience. Thanks for another great video, Nick .🤗

B: I went under the disk immediately because this earthquake scared me. Someday, I hope to learn English details from you for working abroad as a researcher, but I have to write hard to make the tuition now.

Something interesting happened while I was on a pilgrimage to temples in Shikoku. As I was crossing the mountain pass, an old woman came up to me. She gave me some sweets and mentioned that she had been waiting for pilgrims recently. As it was raining last time, she couldn’t catch up to a pilgrim. I felt grateful and thanked her. I realized that this was a tradition in Shikoku and felt fortunate to be able to make this trip.
Something lucky happened. When I was making country bread at home, the dough was overfermented and became muddy and sticky. I had no choice but to flatten it, form it into focaccia, and bake it. Surprisingly, my family who ate it praised it as delicious.

My son was about five years old , something interesting happened. We were shopping some clothes and kitchen stuffs and so on. We went to the cashier to pay the last bill and paid by the credit card. The woman at the register asked me to sign the bill. My son who was watching us whispered to me, "You're famous, aren't you?" I thought What he was talking about? But after a while I realized that my son thought she wanted my autograph! , so I said "Yes, I am! I'm a famous person!" He was surprised and gave me a look of respect. It was a lovely memory.
Thank you for your grate lesson! Last week, Something dangerous happened. I was riding my motorbike far from my home town. I had never been to the town. So I was looking around to find right direction. After traffic light changed, I started to run, but the car in front of me was breaking just after started. I couldn’t stop immediately and I hit a car in front of me. I apologized a women who was driving the car. The woman watched a point I hit and she said”Oh, It is just a small collision. I don’t mind. No problem ”.I said “I pay for repairing” but, she said “I don’t need. Good bye.” This is my story meeting a kind person.

She hesitated to pick up it. Suddenly he woke up and put it into his pants. Maybe he thought it was his underwear. She could do nothing.

Hi, Nick. Allow me today to give a comment in English. This video of yours has impressed me a lot. I've been seeing many of your videos already and I thought I was a rather advanced learner of English. And earlier today someone recommended this particular video to a forum of Japanese learners of English that I often attend. Then I began to watch it. Having heard the introduction to today's input of yours, I had assumed that I would be hearing what I already knew well already. I was wrong. I learned something important. Yes, I had suspected that natives use the English constructions of past progressive and simple past in the way you described, but my understanding was still a bit vague, not completely structured. You've beautifully explained all the hitherto-ambiguous points that I had in mind.

Yesterday, I was thinking about plantnig Pentas flowers next summer(my mather's favorite pretty little flower with pentagon shape flowers of clasters), I found the one glooming well through the carwindow. What a nice day I don't have to waite until next season.
I am not sure if you like this episode but if you like it, please use it for your project. I did something stupid the other day. I was swamped with my work all day long. My manager was finishing work and I noticed I was supposed to submit the report and receipt for my business trip to him before he left. So, I did it in hurry. On the next day, I was working as usual and he came to my desk smiling. I felt something wired. He gave the receipt back to me saying he couldn't accept it. I looked at it and understood why it was. I had accidentally handed in the receipt of my grocery shopping instead of one of the business trip. It was so embarrassing.

on the trainは日本語で考えるとin the trainですがネイティブにとってはonしかないのですね。
