I used your video to show my Japanese housemate how to pronounce r correctly and thanks to you he finally got it! Yours was much more helpful than the other videos I showed him. He is trying to unlearn the 巻き舌 he learnt in school, so I repeated your advice until he succeeded in pronouncing it. Great video!

Hi Robbie, I'm very happy for your housemate. L and R are always huge struggle for Japanese learners of English. So I'm glad to hear that my video has been helpful for them. Say hello to your housemate :-)
japanese speakers who reallize that L is R. Speakers would carry the pronunciation of their native language to the foreign language they spoke. Engrish might also be flooded with tapped R pronunciations.
I have a question about how to pronounce English words such as " religion" or " related" which consist of the combination of R and L sounds. I've learned that you need to push the tip of your tongue onto the back of your upper front teeth when pronouncing L sound. Do I really need to do that? I've found it a bit difficult to pronounce those words . That is because I have to move my tongue back (R)and forth(L) very quickly when I give it a try to pronounce them as I've learned. I would really appreciate it if you cound give me some comments about my question. Sorry for my poor English!
