One of the many reasons I appreciate Danny's contributions to this channel is: It doesn't begin with any ads rating to Skill Share, Raid Shadow Legends, or Hunter Killer. Lol

Good review. I really enjoyed the circling back to these "loose" threads and giving them a satisfying conclusion. The parallels of making a hollywood movie vs a comic book is funny. I bet Pia and Brian feel a kinship with the author and illustrator.

On Ripley and Lara croft and Sara Connor they aren't male masturbatory characters Sara is a strong mother empowerment figure especially single mothers and veterans of war or victims of it. Ripley is a dominant woman of her career and of industry a defender of morality in science and of a worker and their rights, Lara croft is not only a beautiful woman but a kickass and take names kind of person great with puzzles mysticism weaponry combat parkour and the supernatural she has saved the world countless times and she doesn't even want a thank you she is basically Jacque Cousteau as a woman. Being attractive doesn't mean a generalization is accurate or that they are only sexy.
@dannymalt4 жыл бұрын
I agree, I don't think Brian K. Vaughan really believes what he wrote in the book about Tomb Raider and Ripley, but the director character, Cayce, she is an idealist hyper focused on women's portrayal in media over the years, and I believe someone like her would totally have those beliefs, so it's true to her character to have those opinions of those characters.

Feminist hate attractive,successful and feminine women because their arguments are bullshit.Plus most feminist are angry lesbians that aren't very attractive and have difficulties getting girlfriends or anyone else.Furthermore saying a character that is female is'nt a good character because they are not made by women is horseshit,then i guest steven universe which is made by a woman then is'nt a real boy.Yep feminist are trash.
@saljpal34 жыл бұрын
@@dannymalt To be fair about Ripley it's not like she was the only character forced to be seen in just their underwear. There were other women and plenty of men in the first two alien films that had to do the exact same thing. Plus Ripley was also a mother so not only did we see her as a strong empowered woman but also someone with a child and wide array of emotions and character development.

Thanks again for the awesome video Mr. story teller Danny! interesting develop of the story indeed, however the final showdown between Tayota and 355 was a bit quick to be honest, it was not anti climatic or anything, 355 used all her street fighter traning againts a trained assassin and win only by a narrow margin, in a way Tayota was her alter ego in sense, but there was really nothing at stake for 355 to take her down other than "muscle flex showing", if tayota had told 355 AFTER SHE ASK WHERE YORICK was, (which i guess is a key information there for all this outcome) that Mr. M will actually kill Yorick after he told him "why" of course like all Japanese villains xD, then there should be something at stake for 355 to take down tayota and save Yorick, only the outcome was a win by a hair of a frog and that was actually Alison who at the end save Yorick and comity patricide. That was simply awesome! my internet connection is not as good to handle a stream (internet of Venezuela, this also explains my bad grammar, english not my main, sorry) but i will see the video after, thank you!

@@powercj99 just because one don't care for the writing doesn't mean they want an over sexual story. personally i just didn't like Yorick. his character was portrayed as being more effeminate than the women in the story. i believe this was done just to make the women seem stronger. on the reverse, most of the women portrayed seemed to have their aggression amped up for no reason. like Yorick had to be hid 99% of the time. why? because if a woman saw him they would loose their mind? while there would be a very small % of women like that, a majority would be supportive of Yorick and want to help him in the hopes of bringing the male population back. and before you say "it's a comic!". yes it is. but a comic based on IRL and seems like a story written about something that the writer doesn't know much about. overall just crappy writing.

Just because I noticed the use of she/her pronouns for the transgender character, The transman character is born into a biological female body(anatomy), but now lives as a man in society(gender). For term clarity: Boy/man = how one lives in society aka gender, biological male = anatomy aka sex. Today woman and female gets used interchangeably, but in the sciences like biology they are separate words with different definitions. In this case, the character isn't 'a woman passing as a man', (gender passing as a gender). Bobby is a biologically female person who transitioned through surgeries and hormones and now lives as a man. Saying a transman is "a lady passing as a man" is a bit derogatory. Transmen are not the equivalent to drag queens nor women cross dressing. They are very much real men in the societal aspects, they see themselves and express themselves as men. So the character is not she/her, Bobby would be he/him. Including a transman character in a "only females survive" story is logical considering they talk about turner syndrome (someone born with X instead of XX) which is an intersex condition. The Amazons in the story are kind of a hilarious extension of sexist anti-men biofemale-supremacist TERFs that plague civil rights discussions to this day. No person's experience of womanhood is the same, but that doesn't mean it still isn't womanhood. The Amazon's murdering intersex people and transmen was portrayed as cultist and extremist for a reason. No hate, just wanted to explain it quick. The explanation in this video might turn away audiences and new subscribers from the channel. You do a nice job of narration, so I thought I would try to lend a hand. The topic of biological sex and LGBT+ people and gender roles can be extremely confusing to learn about since normal speak uses many terms interchangeably, while scientific papers use those words with different meaning.
