But, little chance one of your vendors would charge $3000 to replace a back cover on a watch costing $2500 that is still under warranty. Great work Movado in finding this video. Nice, good choice on a Diamond Faceto; it usually MSRPs for like $3600 about and it and very similar models go for that BNIB from Movado a lot from the luxury watch crowd and is excellent as a dress watch or compliments for a black tie event, et al. But yeah, as you've figured, primary problem it seems you have is Jared's for 1) trying to charge you money to "fix" an obvious minor issue that takes a few seconds with little to no effort exerted and 2) specifically trying to charge you $600+ to repress the backface cover back on. The Movado Diamond Faceto is waterproof...the backface cover plate should be pressed back in with pressure evenly distributed so the rubber o-ring gasket seal can correctly center and maintain the water tight air seal. There's a million ways to do it...a watch bezel casing press costs cheapest like $8 online...shit, you could probably use an arbor press or tortilla press or something if you can press it evenly in or even make a jig or press out of wood from Home Depot or junk you find with some creativity. PS, make sure you have it support braced and cushioned adequately so you don't scuff it up if you do try to press it in yourself. Good luck.

I bought my movado from Macy's in 2005 and in 2012 I had to replace the battery 3 times within 2 different jewelers because wrong size battery and finally the last jeweler honored his warranty on battery is still on working to this date... just got a rolex datejust 41mm with 18k fluted bezel

Movado used mushroom MSRP’s for their watches. You can get pretty much any quartz model for under $300 if u look around or cheaper than that if pre-owned. I own several. I have a large movado two tone plated museum dial that i payed $140 for new. The msrp was 1250$. Never pay that. Its the malls and jewelry stores that try to scam u on values. In addition, movado uses base stock ETA 4-7J movements and a case, band, and general assembly is done in shenzen or guangdong china. For the price they charge you can buy a nice Japanese auto or a Hamilton tissot and such. In my opinion movado is a fashion brand and should be treated as such. It meets swiss standards for the “swiss made or swiss quartz” dial label, however it is not worth the money unless gotten much cheaper (gray market that is). That is just my opinion.

It should not be light weight at all. And you take off the back and I believe if it even has serial number they don’t match real ones, please check that too. Then sue the F out of them. I’d take it to a pawn shop , they will tell you for free then to be absolutely sure take it to a dealer if he says fake then go to a appraiser they won’t and can’t lie. So sorry. Based on what it looks like inside it is a knock off. It should be almost all brass in the inside. Also if you just bought it it will be under manufacture warranty. The brass inside will have a bunch of dots polished inside in sequence with movado embossed. Something doesn't add up. FYI MSRP is 3495

$2600 on a diamond Movado lol. They saw you coming a mile away. I just purchased a Masino for Christmas and had a diamond bezel installed for $1200. Half of what you paid for a quarter carat more in weight and better clarity. Never pay full retail price smh. You are paying overhead and commissions. As for the water, I also own an Estimo that I wore in a pool foolishly. I had the movement replaced for about $100. That was in 2016. Never had an issue since, but I went to an actual watch repair shop, not the place I bought it from. Stop dealing with Zales and Kay and the rest of them. They will rob you blind if you don't know what you're doing.

Any jeweler will charge you $7- $20 to fix & put a new battery including Walmart 😂😂. and just because it's says Swiss made does not mean automatic movement unfortunately Swiss watches have quartz movements. by this time I would have had a local watch maker make me a new case back for $100 AT MOST. I live in the midwest and the place he says he bought the watch at is a discount jewelry store chain. They have stupid commercials and advertise as having a larger selection than the other stores. Personally, I have three Movados and have had no problems with any of them. I have one that I wear almost daily and have for a couple years.
