For some, this was their first introduction to Hatsune Miku. For some, this was their only introduction.
Rolling Girl by Wowaka is a song that holds the weight of the span of many lives, many cries, and SO much hope.

I'd like to start by saying I'm extremely sorry for missing the premier for this, I felt terrible upon realizing, so I'd like to try to verbalise my appreciation for this and show you got your message across to someone. While I hesitate to say anything, since I listen to your covers so often and have so much to say I worry about not doing them justice, I really wanted to thank you here Pigeon. No matter how many big words and long paragraphs I write, I can't fully express how much I love this cover, and I could talk forever if given the time. But I want to try to. Please forgive me if anything is worded weirdly, I'm not very good at expressing myself. I really think that your tuning compliments this song perfectly, and every note was sung as if Ruko was truly suffering themself. The pain of those rolling who've heard this song was brought out so clearly in this cover, and I can't help but get emotional alongside it. Your Ruko sounds so human, so alive as if *actually* living and suffering, as if desperately crying and choking through a strained voice for help, for anything, and it really connects with me. It brings me to why I love your expressive tuning so much and so dearly- You really do give a voice to those struggling, just as I believe Ruko has for you. All the pain inside the hearts of those who latched onto this song and felt heard because of it feels amplified by your tuning. The lyrics and melancholic melody is already so saddeningly beautiful, and your agonized sound makes it feel so much stronger. Seriously, this is the most impressive tuning I've heard in my life. Some people determine how good tuning is by how realistic it sounds in terms of being clear and not squeaky or snappy, others say how human and clear it sounds, and for others it's about the power or scream-iness..but for me, the reason why this is the best is because it really does feel so..*human* to me, more than anything. Your acknowledgement, sympathy/empathy, and sorrow for those who've been rolling alongside this song makes it all the more beautiful to me. You can't produce something like this without a deep understanding and appreciation of it, and you've done that...perfectly. Every voice crack, every squeak, breath, high note, everything is filled with pain so strongly, and I feel heard by it. It's why I idolise you so much Pigeon, I want to give a voice to those who struggle to speak, to express pain that can't be verbalised through tuning, just as you have. I infinitely respect you, for caring so much about this and creating something this beautiful. I don't think even this is NEARLY enough to express my full extent of appreciation and admiration for you and your works, Pigeon. I have this thing called Synaesthesia alongside my Autism (I think the two are connected anyway, idk if you know from Ruko Church), and the biggest part for me is being able to describe songs. I can feel the emotion in this song alongside typing this, so I'd like to poorly attempt to explain it..Since you're so deeply connected to Ruko in my brain, even your colours themselves are vibrant reds and blues, but I saw a huge range in shades...I hope you don't mind my hyperspecificness, but the stronger, more powerful parts were #BF394B (For the Red, picture Cardinal for simplicities sake) and #284F82 (For the Blue, picture a Navy Blue for simplicities sake. These are hexcodes, if you also like being specific.) They were strong and expressive colors floating and flashing around me, yet not overwhelming. While beautifully powerful, they still had that 'choked-up' muted feeling. On the contrast, the more softer and whispered parts were #A06671 (For the Red, I really have no clue how to describe this one so have my apologies) and #8EB1B8 (For the Blue, picture a grayer and deeper sea) did add to that 'choked-up' whispery feeling. Like crying out for help, as if leaping forwards and reaching out your hand for anyone to grab, but being in a dark, void-filled abyss all alone. I'm hesitant to say this, because I respect you so much and worry about making a bad impression as well as wasting a ton of your time, but I really did try to thank you with all that I had, Everything about this cover connects with me, and I really couldn't thank you enough. I've probably sounded like a record player, but you captured all the hope and hopelessness in this song with uncommunicable beauty so well I wanted to try to speak, even if I don't deserve to. I hope you have it in you to forgive me for embarrassing myself by saying all this, if that's possible anyways. While I could've certainly worded some aspects better, I feel this thank you is on-par with my current (lack of) communicating abilities. Lastly, Thank you to Umize for this beautifully made MV, and I cannot stress this enough, to you Pigeon, for making this song beloved in the hearts of so many, those present and those not. You'd chosen your words so beautifully, and I wanted to attempt to thank you for it. I hope that in the near-future I can become better at expressing myself, and hopefully even be as god-ish as you someday. Please don't overwork yourself, and keep on Rolling. ❤❤💙💙
