Oh!What a romantic film,"Anarkali"was released in 1953 five years before my birth in 1958!When I was a child of five, I used to listen to the oft-made discussions by my mother and my aunts on how much romantic the films like "Anarkali","Nagin",and "Madhumati" etc. were!When I grew up ,and attained maturity, I had this realisation that Lata Mangeskarji with her mesmerising voice emanating from her golden tongue, and manifested through the lips of our globally-famous princess-looking actress Bina Rayji in the mind-boggling romantic film, "Anarkali" before Pradeep Kumarji, gifted with a regal bearing,exercised ,nay,still exercises a magic-spell with its universal appeal of an undying human-love which is still a myth to all!I very often lament at the thought that the decade of 50s, the days of the romantic pair of lovers like Pradip Kumarji and Bina Rayji-the golden days,indeed, -are lost for ever when the Indian Film Industry reached the zenith of global fame!
