XG is not part of the KPOP or JPOP system alone. They are AVEX-signed artists and XGALX CEO Simon Jakops works with AVEX to promote XG in Korea and globally. For this reason, their management wanted them to sing in English rather than Japanese or Korean. But I appreciate y’all’s explanation much love 🫡

Not one of their songs are in Korean. Blackswan sings in Korean, XG does not 🤦♂ Its Pop music, why do you consider K Pop to be end all- be all? Its ALL POP MUSIC! Originated in the Country you are from. K Pop- Pop music sung in Korean C Pop- Pop music sung in Chinese J Pop- Pop music sung in Japanese P Pop- Pop music sung in Pilipino XG- Pop music sung in English

@Ampaof3 Hey! Just wanted to clarify that we were not trying to insinuate that kpop was an end all be all and apologies if it came across that way. We are aware that other types of pop exist as we were both introduced to Q-pop and Mando Pop (as LAY Zhang from EXO has called it before) and personally for me, the younger sister, have known about Jpop and listened to it when I was in High School. Initially, yes, Pop was identified based off of the language they were singing it in bc most times they originated and/or was signed to a label from that country. The reason we mentioned Blackswan was because we received comments emphasizing that they were not korean as a way to prove that XG was not Kpop. Which as we can see Blackswan has no korean members, yet are considered a kpop group and to your point that's because they sing in Korean and they are also signed to a Korean music label etc. What becomes confusing for us is the basis that they sing their songs in English however, our argument was that we see many k-idols sing in all English but they don't get classified as just Pop but rather Kpop (one that quickly comes to mind is Vcha who sings all English and are from America) The line becomes confusing. However, with that being said, we understand what everyone is trying to explain. At the end of the day, to your point which I agree with 100% it is all Pop! Whatever style XG does works! They are 🔥 and that, we will stand on!

XG is not Kpop. They said it a lot of times. They released interviews and articles about that. One thing you're completely wrong is "they go to music shows so they are Kpop". Wrong! There are a lot of "Korean Artists" who went to those music shows but they are NOT Kpop at all! Saying XG is Kpop because they promote in Korea is like saying Rolling Quartz (a Korean all-female Hard Rock band) is Kpop! it's like saying Dok2 (K-hip hop artist) is Kpop! It's a complete nonsense. Also XG never introduced korean stuff on their MVs! On this MV for example it's all about the japanese culture (Shibuya, Godzilla, Japanese Drift Culture, JDM, Salary Man, ...), on Shooting Star: Super Mario, Sailor Moon, Shibuya Skyscrappers, .... No korean reference on those MVs at all! And if you think it sounds like Kpop then again you're wrong! The japanese music industry did those kind of songs decades ago before Kpop was a thing! You can search on KZbin 90's japanese artists like Namuro Amie, Mika Nakashima, Heartsdales, Foxximisq, Zeebra, Nujabes, M-Flo and many more. I think you only know Kpop when it comes to Asian Music that's why you say those things...

@kakkoishonen Hey there. Just wanted to clarify a few things. We understand that there are different genres that Korean Artists make and it is not all considered K-pop. Everything we mentioned was not mentioned as isolated examples but rather as many examples put together when pleading our reasoning and confusion. So because they do music showcases on top of promoting in Korea, on top of their aesthetics (not going into specifics) being similar to what we have seen thus far in the kpop scene, on top of other kpop groups who have done all English songs is what made us come to that conclusion. About the MV, we did not state that they incorporated anything specifically Korean in their music video. What we stated was that it looked like other kpop videos meaning the aesthetics. If we compare kpop to American pop for example, the music videos are very different and kpop has a certain aesthetic that we have not typically seen outside of that. (Not saying there can't be other countries with similar aesthetics bc we reacted to a Q-Pop group that had a similar aesthetic, however, we mainly know Kpop. Therefore that's what we mainly had to base it on bc that is mainly what we personally know. Is it ignorant? Yes. But now we are being informed) Now, with that being said, when it comes to Jpop which I used to listen to in Highschool so my memory is not that great (it's been a minute lol) but I didn't recall listening to any Jpop that sounded like anything XG has done but I also didn't listen to Jpop nearly as much as I have listened to kpop over the last decade so you are probably right as far as the sound is concerned. All in all, I wish we could come to a place where we all agree it is good music no matter what it is called. We wanted people to understand our thought process behind our assumption instead of being scrutinized and attacked for stating that they are a Kpop group or referring to their music as kpop. Between the last video and this one we have received more attack rather than educating. That was all. (We also acknowledge that we came out a bit defensive and it may have been jarring especially if you did not see our other reactions and see the comments) But we get it although it still gets confusing bc as you mentioned Rolling Quartz is a hard rock band and not kpop yet Dreamcatcher does primarily rock and they are considered kpop. All we know is we love XG's music and will continue to listen to them bc they are simply the best! :)
