Ya Shadad - Israel/Palestine

The Amer family live in the West Bank, in a house completely surrounded by Israeli fences and the Wall. The family is left imprisoned and struggling to adjust to an impossible reality.
In 2003 the Israeli government started building a Security Barrier between Israel and the Palestinian territories in the West Bank. But for various reasons, the Amer's home was completely surrounded and isolated, neither in Israel or Palestine. We used to be able to see our neighbours and have a normal lifeeven in paradise one cannot live without people. After appealing to human rights organisations, the Israeli army offers to open a private gate. Father, Hani is given a key but threatened if anyone else uses it, the house will be demolished. The familys deteriorating reality causes tensions to grow and youngest son Shadad starts to disappear from the house.

Probably not the best place to raise kids, but they seem like a good bunch, so there are worse places to be. May they make the best of their position, and long live Shadad!

The phrase "Allahu Akbar" is essential to Islam. Allahu Akbar is repeated 30 times a day in the call to prayer(Athan). We are not allowed to eat meat that has not had the name of Allah recited upon it before slaughter, so when we kill cows and sheep etc... we say "Allahu Akbar" When we pray, before we move from posture to posture we say "Allahu Akbar."

There is no solution for the Israelis and Palestinians. Look what happened to the Balkans. They apparently "have" a solution but the Albanians, Croatians and the Serbians are still at each other's throats but the UN is playing the Mother who is isolating everyone in their corners. What happens when that mother is gone? There is no choice but for one or the other side to win. That will stop the bloodshed

3. Even if a muslim doesn't hate jews they ALWAYS say Israel shouldn't exist. When I ask them, "So what happens to the over 7 Million people that live there?". That's when I get the shrugs and I don't care looks.

Christianity and Judaism has evolved to the modern age and is now "less militaristic" but Islam has kept fast to their old ways. Old ways that include killing the "infidels" which includes me and having "jihads" to expel the foreign invader, which resulted in the death of 155 of my fellow Canadians in Afghnaistan. Many of these men have left widows and children behind. There is simply no reason or justification for these deaths. Please don't answer "But these people have killed..." no.

@dimaboards Islam like all religions is based on philosophical beliefs and as such people pick and choose as they see fit.When you have an oppressed people who are ruled by tyrants put into power by corrupt governments around the world you get this. You try to justify the treatment of these fellow humans by saying they are sub human based on the religion but you have bought into the propaganda of the west. Lastly extremism can come in all forms.
