I like that this arc felt like an epilogue to the elf arc seeing the consequences of the actions that happened and how the people reacted and felt. I liked how the ending was dark showcasing the reflection of it all with Dazu. It hits at the themes of show so well.

The filler arc was good, I enjoyed it, it flushed out the world and answered some questions I never thought to ask XD Black Clover does that tho, they tell us so much and all our questions eventually get answered, sometimes they just answer something that complete flies over your head.

Thing I like about Julius is that in 500 years he was the second wizard king to get peasants to join the Magic Knights (the first wizard king being the one directly before him who let Zora's father join)

35:15 to be fair with Julius his time will be up once the nobles and the other members of magic parliament find out that he's a child so if it's a way to help himself or someone else he would take it, but I can also see it the opposite direction of the item being used like what adorkable is saying.

I'm glad you didn't skip these "filler" episodes. They have some great character moments and really make the motivations of the characters mean more going forward. There is some good world building too, like it puts more of the real struggle of the people with limited magic abilities into a better context. We all can understand it, but seeing this stuff gives that side of the story more weight (like the "class struggle" of peasants vs. royals that Asta/Yuno are already bucking that system).

I agree with adorkable. the peasants whining at Asta that their life are so hard, when Asta himself had it even the hardest.getting laughed at back home in Hage village (which was why he yelled and shouted a lot), getting discriminated against when he joined the ranks (except the Black bulls) until he has proven his worth as a knight. (which is why Yuno will always be his supporter). and he done this all without Magic, while everyone else has magic one way or another. edit: 36:00 😮

Also lil ole William there was originally from the Forsaken Realm on top of being cursed. Even if someone did come along wanting to continue the 1st Wizard King's work it wouldn't have mattered. The whole plan depended on the Elves using the stones to boost their mana to provide the initial power to get it started, so no more Elves no more plan. The Queen is literally Velma from Scooby Doo (the original show, that is). The REALLY interesting thing from what Adorkable was mentioning is the fact that the Wizard King was wandering around the woods somewhat near Hage 'cuz that's where he would have had to have been in order to find that device.

In my opinion they should have at least been arrested. I don't care if you are a peasant or rich you shouldn't be able to get away with what they did. They kidnapped 2 people, killed 3 people on parliament, and started a riot. Just like they said you shouldn't be treated unfair because you barely have any magic or you're a peasant, you should be treated the same for crimes. Also before you come at me and say rich people don't get that treatment the former captain of the purple orcas did and I think it should be equal treatment. The people who lost control because of the elves shouldn't be attacked because they weren't in control. So because they were in complete control of their actions they should get a punishment that isn't exilement. If Asta can be framed for "being a devil" they can get arrested for killing people.

To be fair, the final scenes are framed somberly, and despite saying that they will reach the Spade Kingdom no matter what, Dazu still returned Asta's grimoire. They know they won't make it. I don't know if Damnatio knew this, but I wouldn't be surprised if this is what he expected, hence the exile. Well I really don't feel bad for them, especially Dazu and Bow. While no one can ignore the discrimination in the Clover Kingdom, they're still psychos.

If Asta has no magic, they barely have any magic, even less than the average peasant, the difference between 0 & 0.6 where the average person is 10 - 15. Their leader needed to borrow magic just to heat soup, while her peasant mother-in-law can fly. They're not on the level of those kids Zora dealt with in his filler, one of these with water magic would probably be able to make a few drops at best, not really helpful.
