The addition of the patches to show who votes to stay or leave is a ruthless psychological tactic. Because they can vote after each game, now players will be able to tell who is likely to vote stay/leave, which will change how they play since obviously if you wanna leave then you want to try and sabotage the people who want to stay so you can get the majority vote. So to counter Gi-Hun being in the game and prevent him from uniting the players he effectively split the players into two teams. Absolutely diabolical

While it's the same game, I love how different they made "Red Light, Green Light". In S1 we, like Gi-hun, experienced it firstly and how this innocent game turned into slaughter. While here he and we knew about it and how to cheese it and save as many lives as possible. Like in S1 they lost more then a half, while here - below 100 players. Also like huge emphasis on voting in this season. Each player will now know how you voted, which could lead to division between O and X. And unlike S1 players do get some money if games are cancelled, but it's so small cash, that their greed motivates to play further and increase their possible cash. Pure gambling.

Little inside on Thanos's character but I'm so happy to see T.O.P , the actor's name who plays player 230 aka Thanos, again acting. T.O.P was in the OG boyband called bigbang (really succesful). He has always struggled with his mental health, has been diagnosed depression & anxiety disorder(lots to do with the fame he got since age 18) He has had many haters in the past but in 2017 he smoked a little weed with a friend bc he has high anxiety and the entirety of Korea started a hate train(very conservative country).Shortly after T.O.P tried to unalive himself was fortunately unsuccesful and was treated in the hospital but after that got even more heavily b*llied online again by the whole country(bc he is a big star over there) saying things like "he should've" or sending death threats or similar thing,the media came to the hospital with hundreds of camera's and started berating his mom while recording him was also forced to apologize publicly live for "stressing the fans" bc of his attempt. (how absurd right?).He completely left the industry (eventhough he has successfull music and acting awards) Korea treated him like dirt for smoking a little weed twice in his own home.Harming nobody. He left his whole life behind in Korea, didn't want anything to do with them anymore (rightfully so) after his suic*de attempt and moved to the US and has gotten way better mentally, started acting again and this role(thanos) is basically a dig at how Korea made him out to be, like the korean media made T.O.P out to be this evil,monster ruining wild on drugs when all he did was smoke a little weed in his own home 3 times bc his ex-girlfriend gave him that has help for his anxiety,so now he portrays this psycho character on drugs like how the media slanted his name as a dig to Korea in a very popular show. The 2 dualities that I like here is that they played the same music during the game, but different. And the other is that the original 001 let them go not because he knew they’d all come back but because he wanted them to legitimately have the choises to live or come back. More of “please prove me wrong” kind of deal. You made a good point that subverting expectations in the first game would've been nice too. If they just escorted the eliminated players out of the room, it would've made Gi-Hun look really stupid. Nobody would take him serious anymore and the players would be even more shook when suddenly people started dying during the second game. But then again, it would take any tension from the scene and people HAVE to die for the price money to increase. So it makes more sense to not change it.
