They got the 90s dialogue down alright. One of the things I didn’t/don’t like about the X-Men (and believe me that’s a *very* small list) is how some of them think that they’re a different species all together. Yes I know mutants are an allegory for race, but the fact is they’re all human, all have feelings, families, all bleed and can create as well as destroy. One of the things I enjoy about X-Men is that they constantly try to teach that more connects us than saparates us, that our sameness outweighs outmatches and outnumbers our differences. That our core being and choise on how to live life is what matters. That we *all* can do something and be a bigger version of ourselves and help one another no matter what pained past, mistakes, or abilities we have and have not. So when Storm stormed out (ha, pun) because their “connection” was broken I called bs. Yes losing your powers is like losing your wings as demonstrated by Angel in multiple variations of X-men media, but it’s not what bonded you to others. Being alive, being and living did that.
