She's still holding back is whats scary. She's still not quite there yet and what we saw in this episode with her using her powers so much on that one glasses dude and dropping Trask was only the opening on a possible fall and release from restraints. If Rogue was really not holding back she wouldn't have dropped him. She would have broken him like she was in invincible.

The fact that the storyboarders and animators are fighting game players warms my hearts because that's why we're seeing so much of the Capcom fighting game influence in this series since episode 1 with Cyclops. Rogue was going her X-Men vs Street Fighter moves against the Hulkbusters. My generation of peers are the ones in control now. Dope!😭❤

Long story short, the reason Mutants are mutants and someone like Cap isn't is because mutants are classified as having the "X-Gene" which activate usually around adolescence or extreme stress. They're essentially a new subspecies of humans, whereas Hulk or Cap were humans who were enhanced by outer means (Radiation or Serums) The fear and discrimination being the idea that mutants will "replace" humans (even though mutants are humans).

It was in a couple of episodes in which Peter went to see Professor X about his mutation change during the Neogenic Nightmare Saga (Season 2). Plus, the first episode of this show references Spider-Man after the X-Men rescued Roberto from the FOH.

The guy you're wondering about is Bastion. He is a fusion of Master Mold and Nimrod. He is by far the strongest sentinel. Apocalypse would beat him but struggle. He is THAT strong. Prepare for more deaths because he is the reason in the comics why mutants go nearly extinct.

How it works is, Mutants get their powers from the X gene, though it's inactive in some. Mutates get them from experiments. Also, this new Rogue is terrifying and I love it.

Fun fact the reason rogue is so strong is because she held onto captain marvel for so long she permanently gained some of her power. She has to absorb other peoples powers first but thanks to captain marvel her base form is strong

Not many people are familiar with the character of Bastion. He’s basically a mix of Master Mold and Nimrod but in human form more or less. Along with having flight, super strength and durability, Bastion is also immune to telepathic abilities, can technoform things, turn people into Prime Sentinels, has total control over other Sentinels, manipulate energy, teleport and has chronokinesis. Back when X-Men: Next Dimension was released on the PS2, X-Box and GameCube, Bastion was chosen as the main villain in that game. He kidnaps Forge and forced him to indirectly create weapons to destroy all mutants and nearly succeeded. It took the combined forces of the X-Men and the Brotherhood to stop him. In short, dude is kind of OP and is not to be messed with. Looking forward to seeing more of him in the next few episodes. And since y’all didn’t really noticed, those moves Rogue was doing in the beginning of the episode, those were callbacks to Rogue’s actual moveset in the early Marvel games, starting with X-Men vs Street Fighter. Was definitely surprised and delighted to see her do those! That was definitely a bit even shocked when dude started saying one of Captain America’s moves since he does that in those games.

A. In all my nerd knowledge I have *NO* idea who this Bastion guy is. 😱 B. Glad to see Magneto’s alive for better to for worse 😮‍💨 C. I knew something was up with Baliver in the first episode. After they defeated mastermold in the 90s series he had a change of heart using the sentimentals and human-mutant relationships after finding out they caused an apocalypses. He wouldn’t just snap back to evil of that degree/magnitude. He didn’t deserve to be dropped or die, especially since he felt more than guilty. Though I understand Rouge. And am glad he’s alive to stop her from crossing that line no one can come back from. D. This new villain scares me. Plenty of time travelers come back to prevent a tragedy but Baring Kang the Conqueror there are few who come back to cause havoc. E. AWESOME to see 90s Captain America and Hulk references here. 😁😁 Maybe we’ll get Spider-Man next. F. Roshi’s border off with the black thing. 😂 Every time I watch or read Mutants in Marvel I always attributed it as an allegory for race and “disabilities” 😊 It make me feel good and like the X-Men even more.

Rogue was amazing in this one. It was amazing to see her in full unrestrained action. With Roberto I did wanna point out how this is basically almost a 1 for 1 on how queer kids feel when trying to come out to their parents, and their parents love them, but want them to hide that part of themselves. Livelihood or not, it would be devastating to know that they accept you but with conditions when parental love is meant to be unconditional. Its the perfect allegory for the queer experience, and I am so glad they're showcasing that so evidently this way to underline the "other" experiences that most folks don't get to experience or see, because it doesn't apply to them.

Dang those poor soldiers. You could literally hear the dude screaming and the other one saying what’s going on when Rouge attacked that base. Like he probably just was on some random patrol and this happens .
