It's a metaphor for Fushiguro as a person Fushiguro fights one of the special grade curses under the bridge and unlocks his Domain Expansion, and if I'm remembering from the manga correctly there's a flashback of Gojo talking to him saying that he needs to be more confident in his own ability using the sacrifice bunt as a metaphor, that people who keep improving like Yuji are always aiming to go for the goal, whereas he's thinking of taking the best course of action to support and work better people around him or sth like that, so it's okay to be selfish Hope this helps

It doesn't seem like that, his curse technique is activated consciously and needs to focus on activating it (the basis of using curse techniques) so it won't activate by itself (must be manual), if you've read the JJK manga, especially during Gojou vs Tōji or during the incident. In Shibuya, where Gojou was so shocked that his focus level wobbled and he finally received a touch / attack due to his infinity technique being inactive.

What you may not have noticed, is that the ants Gojo stepped over were completely unharmed thanks to his limitless. This is a good metaphor for how everyone is relative to Gojo. They're all ants to him, and even though he doesn't directly harm them, they still get the gut-wrenching feeling of being trampled over because they are ants to him.

The curious and crazy thing to remember about this episode is what Itadori said about his interaction with Todo. He keeps saying that he didn't feel like himself back then. So he knows something happened to Todo to screw with his head and make him think that they were childhood friends, but Itadori doesn't know how it happened. He keeps saying that he "wasnt himself." This also very heavily ties back to the 1st OP, and seems to be a recurring thing in the series. People thought that little Todo/Itadori fantasy was a gag, but it wasn't. Todo actually thought it was real. As is implied by what he says in this episode.

For the "1st OP" part: think about how the entire OP is shown as Itadori daydreaming, before he just goes back to sleep. What all do we see in that daydream? All of the Jujutsu Sorcerers and Curses gathered together having a picnic at a park, Junpei sitting with Itadori laughing and smiling with him. These are all false implications, made by what many believe to be Itadori's Innate Technique. Which is why if you look very closely at the OP in episode 12 you can also see that Itadori was crying at the end. Because he knows that these are fake memories.

In contrast, for Tokyo, Maki is able to through curve balls, sliders, change ups, really anything so long as she knows how.

The ants were being used as an analogy for the "collective over the individual" dialogue that was going on between the headmasters. But then Gojo just strolls by in his own little world, stepping all over not only the ants, but that ideology that the headmasters we discussing. The absolute power of individuals like Gojo and Sukuna also contradict that ideology and could hold the greater meaning behind the show.
