The issue with comedy animes in general is how it "might" fall flat because of cultural differences. Certain way of talking, the delivery might not get conveyed properly when the audience is non-Japanese speaker. I always kinda worry about them not understanding the nuance, but I'm kinda relieved that they seem to have a hold on that matter XD

The manga part was very simple and funny, Kaguya rejected her friends to read cause she doesn't want they see her tears, probably Kaguya thinks if she doing this it would reveal a possible weakness especially for Miyuki, so she read in home, safe to be herself. (Miyuki was so confident in this plan but he forgot Kaguya wouldn't show her soft emotions on battlefield).

kaguya sama isn't a shoujo though. Its published in a seinen manga. Which is weird cause the author said that he though only middle aged woman would read it, which would be josei.

@@ben99ny69 manga publishes wherever they're able to, that's why a manga like K-ON is a seinen and Death Note a shonen etc, the demographic of the magazine doesn't affect the manga's plot or development. except the fact that seinen and josei magazines i'm pretty sure they allow mild nudity while shoujo and shounen dont-

@@emanuellukin5854 I'm not saying that there's a difference between a shoujo or seinen or shounen. The line is really blurry. The thing is that certain magazines just won't allow certain manga. Attack on titan is a shounen despite is extreme amount of gore because it releases in a unknown magazine that only gets 60K readers. The point you brought up about nudity not being in shounen or shoujo isn't entirely correct. its very unlikely, yes, but its happened. Hells paradise has quite a bit of nudity and domestic girlfriend has a lot of nudity. Even chainsaw man, which is published in WSJ (the most popular magazine), had nudity but i guess not drawing the tit isn't considered nudity. Even the final chapter, the author was gonna publish it on his twitter if he couldn't get in the magazine. Not to mention you had to be 18+ to read certain chapters of chainsaw man in the app.

In the English dub the narrator actually seems to mess up the line when describing Shirogane misunderstanding the underwear topic, he starts laughing in the middle of the sentence and I cannot tell if it was on purpose or if it was a botched line that they kept in because it's funnier. It's one of the funniest narrator lines in the whole show.
