as a follow up thought to this, the kanji for "Arisu" is 有栖 and 有 means "having" and 栖 "is "habitat". Those are the more common meanings at least, there are less common and you can fall down the rabbit hole (ha ha) there. But there is a bit of irony in that Arisu translates roughly to "having an home" when he has been completely displaced and all he is trying to do is survive to get home.

@@micquitoleest2317 It's a great series, I saw this sometime last year and I'm eagerly awaiting season 2. I think this show will be a nice change of pace from Squid Game. I wouldn't watch it with the intent of trying to compare the two, this one is more in common with the usual death game scenarios - forced participants, an unknown phenomenon happening, mysterious characters, and games that are more action driven or puzzle solving, and some colorful characters. But there's less drama here, that I can remember, which is the driving force with Squid Game.

True, but this show feels exclusive to more hardcore death game fans compared to Squid Game. Casual watchers like my parents felt alienated when they watched AIB so they dropped this show in the last few eps. Unlike in Squid Game, they were hyped in that show because the characters were fleshed out really well, the games were simple and good callback from childhood, and it has some sprinkle of social commentary that oozes relatability. In short, Squid Game's main strength is being more relatable (which can draw more audience making it more famous) while AIB is more of an intense, unique experience with mastery for anime tropes and death game genre tropes (can be alienating to some audience).
