Thanks for watching the video bro. What do you think could have changed for it to sound more like modern yabujin?
@joelswanson119 Жыл бұрын
@@brokenenglishprod I think the mixing is pretty accurate but I would reduce the bitrate and give the bass more volume since I feel it’s a key point in a lot of his songs. He really likes to use a filtered young chop snare playing with the pitch a lot and using it almost as much as hihats. Speaking of hihats in exotica deluxe and some songs off of claws it seems like he pans them really hard left/right. His song structure also varies a ton and I’m not sure if I’ve heard a bridge in a yab song? Lyrical content is holy stuff (angels and demons) with repetitive keywords (if you listen to enough songs you will notice similarities in lyrics) If u were trying to make a song like 302ionwan2go this was really good and thank you for making tasty content 🙏

This is cool Mr Ken. I've always been inspired knowing that there are billions of records that have been released and there must be trillions of samples available. The weirder records of the 1960s and 1970s are a treasure of stuff. When I was a kid building model cars, I got some free 33RPM 7" records describing the cars from the kits. I wish I had those now. One day, before I die, I'm going to assemble a team in a recording studio and make the weirdest effing record ever made, based on old record samples. It will make a LSD trip seem sane. Will it sell? Who the heck knows. PS- I just watched a Reverb video where they produced 808s on real drums. Anything is possible.....

mixxing is bad lyrics not hitting bad drum choice (sounds more like a hard 808 percussion) vol lfo is unnecessary for the snares (?) bad sample choice bland + very hard to listen to voice is bland audio artifact (whistle) kicks in second half (5:00 - 5:20) overall nothing like yabujin, used for views 👍

Thanks Droon for the constructive feedback. I did purposely mix the song really bad because I thought in most of Yabujin's music his mixing is really bad. I added the LFOs to the snares because I believe in Flashback Casanova you can hear the snares prominently sometimes. This was just my way of emulating that. In your opinion what would be a better sample choice? Maybe I will use that in the next one? How do you go about deciding what is a good sample to use? I would like to learn more about that. Overall, I am sorry you feel that I was just trying to use Yabujin for views. I was honestly just trying to share how I would go about making a Yabujin type song. Thanks for your comment and for you watching this video! Hopefully if you come across another video of mine you would enjoy it!

@@jeffrey4000 Thanks Jeffrey! I will look to improve on Yabujin's sound in the future. Thanks for watching my video anyway!
@shpytas2 жыл бұрын
@@brokenenglishprod Yabujins music is NOT mixed bad, and neither do I hear LFOs for (specifically) volume. It's a lowpass, and if not its multiple snares. Yabujins sample choice pertains to music or OSTS (rarely, this is done in the SWORDS album primarily with the exception of ionwan2go) that can easily be mixed and overall pretty subtle. You wouldn't have expected that quite literally most if not all of his music HAS samples, but not just anime ones. However, Yabujins' style of when he does use anime samples isn't just plugging in the sample and being done with it. There's automation, there's chops, there's effects. Putting the sample and doing nothing is quite literally what Yabujin WOULDN'T do. A good sample choice would be something you grew up with, and always chime into memory once in a while. Then you use the sample and you make it what it could've been, and Yabujin does this by making a song about the source of the sample. See: every song Yabujin samples something? And please, for the love of god, be yourself. Making these videos aren't necessarily getting you anywhere, people like Thayerperiod do it incredibly well by remaking the songs not the feel. Thanks.
