OMG guys. I had a YCIN booked for February and I just looked at my booking and noticed I was upgraded to a deluxe balcony. I had been receiving bid emails- the minimum bid yesterday was $865PP. Today- free! This is my Bday cruise! 🎂

Enjoyed your video. We just got back from MSC Meravaglia last week and it was the first time in the yacht club for my girlfriend and I. We had a regular balcony cabin booked and we placed a bid in for an interior yacht club cabin and won the bid. To my surprise, they put us in a deluxe balcony suite instead. I guess the interior yacht club cabins were all booked. It was a welcome surprise!

Hi Beth and Chris!! I really love your videos. My husband and I are hopefully cruising again January 5th, on the Seaside. We cruised with MSC in September, and we did the bid to upgrade to the Yacht Club after watching your videos. We were on the Seashore for a 7 night cruise. We booked the next cruise on the ship, and I'm really glad that we did. Now we have this vacation coming up, that's already booked and paid for, we did the bid again and just got the email that it's accepted! We bid for the interior, it was $235 per person! So, we were awarded a deluxe suite, on deck 18! I've explored the ship layout and tour and it's a great location. As the day is approaching, we are beginning to look forward to having a cruise as a getaway in the dead of winter. We are in Michigan. Thank you for your videos, I've learned so much, and Chris is hilarious!! You two are a really cute couple. 🤎

First, that beginning is sooooooo adorable!! Love it. Chris's mic should fail more often. 😉 So, given the rather large difference in price from interior, to balcony YC cabin, is it really worth it -just- for the larger bathroom? I get it, the bathroom is awesome, but for us the price difference from interior to balcony was mind melting. 😆 and lastly, I need that Orange Paloma recipe!!!!!! 🍹

Hey guys! For us, no not worth it… for some it would be. But also like you said you have to pay quite a bit more OR get a comp upgrade 😁😁 Orange Paloma is a great variation… 2 oz fresh OJ 1 oz fresh lime juice 2 oz tequila 1 tsp agave Finished with ice and a spritz of bubbly water 🎉🎉🎉🎉

We are once again in the YC in mid January... We booked direct instead of upgrading and we are getting an Accessible cabin due to mobility issues. It is MUCH bigger than a normal YC Interior, but they are even more limited than a normal interior - There are four per MSC YC, so book SUPER early.

Absolutely… we have heard that booking accessible cabins in general can be difficult as they just don’t have that many so doing the bidding process just won’t work. I think January is a great time to cruise… worn out after the holidays and nothing like a trip to Ocean Cay to brighten your winter 😊😊😊

We are going on Seascape Yacht Club in October. My Mother in Law will stay in an Interior Cabin. Thank you for your Video. ... I'm putting my Insulin in the Fridge and inform the Roomservice in a normal Cabin not to lock the Fridge in the evening before Disembarking. (i saw the Novorapid in your locker 😎)

Nice video! My wife and me are going without the kids and gonna try out this interior YC cabin on seaview, let’s see later on if it’s worth the savings or if you feel a bit to ”trapped” Take care and have a nice cruise 😊

Hi there… let us know what you think. If this is your first time in YC, you should love it. You might find that you just don’t spend much time in cabin because the public space there is just so wonderful 😊😊😊

Hi Beth, I'm curious if you track the cost of booking YC vs booking a cabin and then upgrading. Is there a real cost savings, or is it just a perceived savings because of the split payment? If you have this information or can compile it, I think it would be a great video topic. Thanks for sharing your experiences with us.

For two of our cruises, we splurged for balconies......and spent maybe 2 hours max sitting out there the entire trip. What amazes me no end is the lack of plugs next to the bed. Anyone who uses a CPAP machine can relate....

Hey yeah we agree… don’t spend enough time out there but was the larger cabin and bathroom worth it for you? I have no idea why in this world there are not more plugs by the bed. I wish I could ask someone because there has to be a reason new ships aren’t like that.

So they don’t necessarily ban extension cords, they ban surge protectors. Those can interfere with the ship’s electrical system.

Depends on the person I guess. We love a balcony. It’s where we have our first coffee of the morning and our last drink at night. Most mornings we will have breakfast on the balcony. For me a cruise is a cruise, which is sailing about on the sea. Nothing better than sitting on the balcony watching the sea go by.

@@farab4391 My wife is the same. The balcony is her relaxation spot. All she needs is about 2-3 hours sitting on the balcony for the whole cruise and the cruise was worth it.

I have a question. I just booked the yacht club on the MSC side balcony. Do they give you one bottle of liquor for your cruise? I know it’s not in the minibar but did they give you a bottle of vodka or something like that?

@@mikeadams4490 yes, you get a free bottle of liquor that you can enjoy on the ship or take home… we always take ours home since drinks are free in YC. The selection is very limited and your butler will make sure you receive it in your cabin. I believe it is vodka, gin, whiskey or champagne but check to see what they are offering when you cruise 😊

We have a podcast named “How we book YC” and we talk about our process of booking. If I remember right, we paid around $3k total which was 1/2 the rack rate.

I just got back last night from my 4 day cruise to nassau aboard the msc divina in the yacht club. It was my first cruise and it was AMAZING! HIGHLY recommend!! Also should point out the wrist band is only for the new msc ships, the divina uses the old keycard entry.

This might be a dumb question but can you use a cruise card from another MSC ship to power the lights in the room? Can you take the unused bottles of shampoo and conditioner with you when the cruise is over? Appreciate your videos.

I think you can - Just did this on NCL in November. And it could be ANY plastic card - we used our MSC YC card. :-)

Never a dumb question. We brought our MSC cruise card from our last cruise and used it. We also explained to our butler (or cabin steward if you are not YC) that we needed the power on in the room while we were not there because we had electronics that needed to be charged. He would then leave it in when he left. If you don’t, they will most likely take it out.

@Taste-Try-Travel I asked because I found 3 cruise cards from our last trip in November 2023. I remember that if you left the room with your cruise cards the lights go off and devices aren't charged. Next April will be my second sailing both with MSC, and both times Yacht Club. But because I was a novice sailing, I didn't know about scheduling photo shoots, my cake order, and other things. So there were some disappointments but I had a fantastic time overall spending time on Seashores pool deck, eating breakfast and lunch there, I forgot to see the rest of the ship. So I missed out on Hola Tacos and Le Cabaret Rouge. I did go to the chocolate place. So this time not bringing as much stuff, not buying a photo package and fruit package. I'm going to ask the Butler more questions and take advantage of the shows. Thank you for the information.

@ yeah we felt just like you. The first time we were just happy to be there. Now we go in a little smarter 😂😂 Don’t miss Hola Tacos… your drink package covers some of the margaritas there and in my humble opinion… they were better than YC 🤷‍♀️
