I was at the Face Dock at AYB in Great Bridge earlier this year. A large yacht aproached the fuel dock. The wife was driving and the husband was manning lines. She did an excellent job. Women can do it, if you let them learn.

Nice job, great post Paul. Both spouses should know how to operate and handle lines as you know but all boat owners should do. Never know when an issue can force the operation and doing so with confidence changes the stress level. My wife Laura “mans” the helm probably more than 50 % of the time when we dock and I handle the lines. I always ask her what task she wants. Communication is key in a calm tone. She gets a lot of thumbs up in our little Ranger tug 29cb from women and men and it makes a great team. Take care Paul.
