I watched the whole series of the Ulysses doing that Atlantic crossing. Great viewing and totally agree that when the stabilizers were switched off, for a brief servicing, made for great viewing especially when they were switched back on and immediately stopped the roll.

Hurricane season here in the southern Caribbean . When other yachts are looking for shelter this vessel is ideal to island hop.

A fine example of the most well proven blue water trawler yacht ever made. Build quality is second to none, quality of all systems are excellent and installed with accessibility in mind. A boat like this will never appear dated or obsolete, it can only become an endearing classic for decades to come. Thanks for another enjoyable video.

They deserve to keep their value as well as they do, but it's a disappointment -- I wish I could afford one, even an older one. But they last so well they never get much less expensive.

I woulf start by turning the dinghy (?) 90° and put it along the rails on the aft. Then stretch the pilothouse backwards ~three feet. Ditch the flybridge OR enclose with thermal glass (deluxe skylounge), openable windows and AC/heating. OK?

Those Detroit engines are as close to flawless as you can get. I would seriously consider them as option 1 if i ever get the chance to build new, or re outfit an older boat.

NH builds lovely yachts. Doubtful I will consider a glass hull again: some love, some hate. I day-sailed a smaller NH some years ago, can't recall the LOA. She sailed very nicely, but the engine noise was too loud for long voyages. US Taxes are added to purchase price, so caveat emptor.

I'm pleased to finally see a Nordhaven Explorer Yacht powered by twin engines. Their usual "get home" engine never inspired a great deal of confidence.
@robertstancer44692 жыл бұрын
I have been banging on about that from the first time i saw one. You should have read the flack i got from Nordhaven groupies AND NORDHAVEN THEMSELVES. Now the whole range has dual engines. NOT A WORD of dissent from said groupies. It's called "Redundancy" as you well know, you know that area of explorer yachts we demand. Johnno will tell yer my position on the subject.

@TheSirUno2 жыл бұрын
Considering the effort that goes into building up the hull of Nordhavns, pound for pound they're probably stronger than some of their steel counterparts. These aren't day boat hulls - even the N55/N60 have hulls up to 6 inches thick in some areas. That's SOLID FB...not cored. Do you know how long it takes to build a hull up like that? THAT'S what you are paying for.

Now then me 'ole salty sea dog, have heard of a "Peloton bike. Went on me mates. Come off it wiv legs i last had when i visited the "Cut" in Valetta - all over the place they were. You know me Johnno by now and we both agree our specification for a true explorer vessel. Cruising at 8.5kn aint one of 'em. Marathon runners complete a 26mile race in 2hrs for gawds sake. No, this is a coast hugger. Again you know in truth that these smaller vessels just do not have the fuel capacity WITH 10% reserve to be a true explorer. Now then, get up to a 120, with a change of interior and we can start talking. Gotta go, grandkids want me on the trampoline in the garden. (I get on wiv 'em, they make me fall down and they laugh at me 'cos i can't get up while they keep bouncing. Buggers! (PS; don't get on when you've had a few drinks).
