Horizon FD110 Yacht Tour & Review | YachtBuyer

The FD110 is the current flagship of Horizon's Fast Displacement range and it certainly has size on its side.
In this review filmed during the 2022 Fort Lauderdale Boat Show, Jack Haines gives you a thorough walkthrough tour to show you all the most important features aboard this voluminous semi-custom superyacht.
Customisation is key with Horizon so the layout of both the decks and interior is very flexible. The boat we saw had an owner’s stateroom forward on the main deck with four further guest cabins on the lower deck and a comfortable crew accommodation aft. There is also the option of an extended crew space, beach club or jet-ski storage in the garage.
With twin 1,900hp Caterpillar engines the top speed is 18.5 knots and the cruising range is 2,000nm @ 10 knots.

A few years ago I was moored in Palma on my ageing ex charter First 501. I met an owner of a 70 foot Horizon and my wife and i were invited for a day out along the coast for lunch. This yacht was brand new and the owner went into some detail as to why he orderd a Horizon and not one of the others. As he explained the details of his trips to Taiwan to see the build and detailed differences between this and others I began to understand. Back in the Marina we were moored close to a similar sized Sunseeker and he ran through and pointed out exactly why he chose a Horizon. Me, I went back to my 25 year old piece of French mass produced sailing yacht. His engines probably cost more that my boat.

Horizon seems to be ahead of the competition when it comes to their layout and hull design. For the money they offer a lot more and better options to me personally. I would definitely choose the horizon fd over the sunseeker. Especially for long extended stays on board.

I really like this boat. It's a no nonsense boat designed for cruising and it could easily used as a live aboard. This particular design is not too flashy which is what I like. I am curious if you could put the hot tub on the fly bridge instead of the bow of the boat......there's just something about sitting in the hot tub right in front of the Captain and/or crew that's a little off putting to me.

There're lots of Horizon builds that put Jacuzzi on the boat deck, so suppose it is possible on the fly bridge as well?

One of my favorites but if I’m spending my hard earned millions, I NEED to go at least 25 knots, 30+ is better! I guess I answered the question, eh?! 😂(the crazy thing is, none of these yachts allow me to take my kids, their better half’s and grand kids at one time if they’re sleeping on board, legally!) a conundrum, for sure. 🤷‍♂️ Great presentation as always, Jack 👍

my only dislike is that you rush these amazing boats, you poss the question, sunseeker or Horizon. I am a true sunseeker fan, however this 110 is simply the best boat I have seen in this range. 5 x cabins, great crew space, easy to service and work on engines, fantastic kitchen, hot tube which is vital for me, loads and loads of just chill out areas. TV at end of Ben positioned in the middle of the bed, my ocd hates things that are off to centre. range could be improved actually. When you said thousands of miles I extended transatlantic distance. Does it check and make large upsetting sounds while at sea? Overall stunning boat, what does it cost to buy in this spec

This is gorgeous, but the Sunseeker’s deck areas are so well arranged, and the master is genius. I’m not usually a Sunseeker fan, but that boat hits the spot. I just wish I that it wasn’t a hypothetical decision!

I feel like the presenter didn't like the guest cabins since he just brushed past the bathrooms in the master cabin and the lower cabins. He is more interested in what the helm and engine looks like and not particularly interested on the rest of the boat. I would need to know if my wife is gonna enjoy the boat too and those bathroom, cupboards and galley facility is important to them. Just looking at from a blokes point of view will miss out on the other half of the people who will be using the boat too.

Very bad cinematography! Why film the narrator? He is not interested in the audience. Some pieces and torn fragments. Where are the general types of interiors? Too bad, the cameraman needs to be fired!
