Of all the beautiful yachts you feature on your channel, this is the one I could actually envision myself living on. Not just a lot of glitz for a couple of weeks then sent off to be chartered, but designed as a true home on the water. Thoughtful and practical living areas for the owner/family and also the crew. Thank you for sharing and hope she finds an owner that will continue to cruise the world.

Nice follow-up video on Qing. I love the red hull color and subtly integrated Chinese design features. Also, great layout and technical setup with the many redundancies. Fun fact: The logo of Qing is the traditional Chinese character 慶 (only used in the regions of Hong Kong, Tawain and Macau) for joy, festivity, felicity and celebrations which again matches with the hull color as red in China symbolizes luck, joy, fertility and happiness (-> it’s why brides in China don’t wear white but red wedding dresses). So the name doesn’t seem to refer to the Qing dynasty (in that context qing - written with a different letter - is usually translated as water or azure to contrast with the preceding Ming dynasty which carried the symbol for fire) as I first thought without seeing the logo.

Most Cheoy Lee explorer yachts have two propellers. The second one is a smaller one meant to be an emergency back up, but can also be used as an emergency to add speed. The most famous Cheoy Lee was Dorothea III. Along with its fishing boat Post One, they cruised the world fishing and exploring. It's what Cheoy Lee is known for. They are also known for offering their clients a spare propeller. When exploring, that is very important to have since it could take weeks to get a new one in case something happened. So most owners who own these take advantage of that and get a second propeller in case it's needed. Another aspect of these yachts is that they are easy to fish off of. The variable pitch propeller makes it easy to fish off this yacht and the jet drive makes it easy to back down on a fish if needed. A smaller Cheoy Lee that was named Short Round, actually participated in many offshore fishing tournaments in Florida. Sadly that boat was sold to someone in Asia and it's whereabouts are unknown but it was a cool unique boat as are most of these. Bering, Numarine, Cheoy Lee, CdM and Gulf Craft make some of my favorite yachts.

This is the first yacht I cannot take issue with. It checks all the boxes on my list. One pet peeve of mine is the excessive number of TV screens on yachts. It is a yacht! Enjoy the experience! Watch TV at home! The single main engine with the secondary is an excellent solution. 11 crew for a 150' yacht? That seems like a lot. Why so many? Most yachts in this size have about half as many crewmen.
@darthkek19532 жыл бұрын
If it's just splashing around chartering you will likely not need a full compliment, but during proper exploration the bridge will be running a 24 hour shift system, three rotas of 8 hours. Also crew can include the likes of teachers for the children (as the previous owner did) so some crew slots will be optional (teacher, fitness instructor / nutritionist, PA, etc.).

I can personally attest to the reliability and functionality of the Schottel Jet Drive. A few years ago, whilst serving aboard a North Sea Rescue Vessel we lost the main propulsion in a gale of wind, for four days we manoeuvred in the gales in the North Sea Winter using only the Fwd Schottel Drive, it worked like a treat, kept us moving slowly but most importantly, kept our head to the wind. Qing or Dorothea III would be my yacht of choice.

Very nice and interesting presentation, again. Beautiful yacht I can imagine spend many months on. But what I realised is that I like the small change in presentation, where the main narration is not interrupted by spliced in detail shots - usually it is disturbing (it is fine as a "post" shot befor leaving certain area of the boat) and it confuses the sense of orientation. I really like this time it is clearly visible what path leads where, I get great "feeling" of the boat, of moving/being there. Much better for me to enjoy and also much easier to pretend I could spend some considerable time on a boat like this :) Anyway, great work as usual!

Such a beautiful layout, the only change I would want to make would be having 2 screws vs just the 1. I get the bow thruster is powerful, however you get much better handling with 2 vs 1 and that's 20 years experience on the open ocean in vessels from 150' up to over 1,000'. And the wood, very interesting choice but it works beautifully, makes it feel more comforting and inviting the way a home should, or home away from home.

Thank you David, the layout inlays are brilliant! Really nice galley for a 46m yacht, and the ability to separate baking/cooking area excellent (and hygienic). Personally I think the hull colour fits her very well, and sets her off from the rest of the crowd. Also like that, although modern, she still has the 'boat' feel. I'll spare you my comments on the crew cabins, but really... 4 decks and no elevator, in this day and age? Even a 1-person vacuum elevator would make a huge difference for some passengers, and is easy to build in. We are non of us getting any younger, remember? 😉
@qwerty133803 жыл бұрын
My only disappointment was no elevator, well, that and the bridge being all white. Poor for night vision.

I have to say that I do enjoy the way that you present a vessel, and I also appreciate that you are trying to sell the boat. But it would be nice if just once, you would mention something you did not like. Take this boat for example, it would seem that the Captains cabin should be very close to the bridge, not on the main deck. The layout of the vessel is terrible, and I thought that you may have said so .The dark wood finish on the main deck, maybe expensive, but looked like the inside of a church. The owners cabin was a mess, being plonked in between the two decks for the guests.

This is a great looking yacht from a traditional shipyard with proven experience known for quality and ability. The design is beautiful - even though red is not my favorite color - it suits this one. Overall, the design is simply done with great taste and even understatement, yet it still very luxurious and imminently livable for long periods. This is a real little ship and one of the best yachts of its size I have ever seen. On top of that the specifications are perfect. Steel hull, safety, light superstructure, propulsion, range, stabilizers and arrangements. Instead of a simple wing engine it has a complete spare engine room with independent propulsion. Unfortunately, it is out of my price range - but even the price is very reasonable when comparing to other yachts, it looks like new and this is a proven world explorer ready to go. Somebody very fortunate is going exploring on the extraordinary Qing.

@@Yachtsforsaleblog Hi David, I have a question for you : Let's say you have an explorer yacht and you're in the middle of nowhere like the back end of Canada, you want to celebrate a big occasion with fireworks. Would you be allowed to do this? Or even in international waters? I'm not sure if you've had a question like this one.
@clifbradley2 жыл бұрын
@@lionelgower6877 international waters you can and in a remote area, really who is going to stop you. However, these are deemed 'explosives' and most captain's won't want them on the yacht to begin with. This is a,so assu in you bought them somewhere legally or legally-ish, then went into Canada you would be subject to to inspection and it is unlikely you would get them through customs. But if you sailed from America up to Canada then took a sharp turn at the north, you could set them off, but not on the ship. No captain will want them on board going off. Neither will most owners since they can burn the teak, injure people possibly, or create some other mishap. So again, the captain will want them off board from land. The other thing you have to consider is using fireworks and someone gets hurt seriously and you are in the back end of Canada. It just creates a situation the captain would need to answer for if the Coast Guard came because of a fire or someone was hurt. But if you own a yacht, you are rich enough to hire a pyrotechnics company to come in an do a proper show. Set things up on barges and what not. Wouldn't be cheap, but cheaper than the yacht burning down, rui ING the deck or a wrongful death/severe injury lawsuit

So I have a serious question. I watched hundreds of yacht walk through videos. I noticed that a lot of appliances are huge, such as refrigerators, freezers, washer and dryers...how do they remove them from the ship if one breaks down and has to be replaced or if the owner wants to upgrade appliances? The door ways, entry ways are so small....HOW DID THEY EVEN GET THEM IN THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE? Do they install them at the shipyard before they finish the construction before it gets to tight? How do they get a full size sub zero fridge/freezer 3 floors down in the boat in the crew area with entry ways that barely fit a human??
@stormtrooper94042 жыл бұрын
I will try to explain this to you, altough am a bit late. But anyway I hope you'll see this answer. There are few options for taking out/in machinery on a boat. 1. To be partialy dissasembled 2. Trough doors and hatches that are wide and intended for that. 3. Trough floors! Yup, you heard it right. They could use crane to verticaly lower machinery, and usually there are bolted sections of the floor that are intended just for that. And finally 4. To just cut out a hole in the boat! I know it can sound crazy to you, but real boats are steel, so plasma cutting on a side of the hull is one of the most practical solution out there for such a task. Its quite easy to weld, repair, re paint. Hope this answer your question.
