Yaesu FT-1000MP Mark-V Field v/s Yaesu FT-2000 - Reception Comparison on 14 MHz

Not sure what I am hearing. Different speakers, microphone definitely favouring the 1kMP. Also, are filters he same? Sound as if the 2k had a narrower filter. I know that the 1k has a better receiver than the 2k, but it shouldn't be so much different IMHO. 73 de HA5XA

Thanks for comments, Well there is visible difference and builtin soeakers been used from the transceivers and no filtering at all same audio settings and volume level with same antenna. 73s

1000 sounds hissing the 2000 more natural. Could be due internal speaker since they say that the 1000 was a better quality build.

I like most yaesu transceivers. I have FT-950, FT-1000MP, FT-1000MP V Field and FT-2000. Each has its advantages and disadvantages. The best sounding transceiver I have is a FT101B from the 1970s.

I agree FT101B & 101E are better sounding transceivers with less bells & whistles of modern radios. Yaesu indeed has a certain class but Icom & Kenwood are bit different in otherways

Big difference. That ft2000 is deaf. One would think that a more recent radio is better on receive..

Well I think FT2000 has less high frequency output as its builting speaker delivers more lower frequency sound than the higher pitches. With an external speaker sound is much of all range with more high pitch sound output. That Many amateurs note with the FT-2000. Yaesu has use different built-in speaker that FT-1000MP in my opinion. Mark V analog wins again. The 2000 Generation wasnt good. The best of all time. 1000D. Still the king.
