Same rig. My attenuators work fine. VRF drops the receive out on VFO A and drops it slightly on VFO B. The VRF lamp doesn't light when it's supposed to be on. I think I have a relay issue but it's early in the troubleshooting. 73 NE5U Mike

FWIW I have seen similar faults in a friends collection of FT1000Ds.. burnt attenuator resistor and a relay with bent contacts, the relay failed due to a short happening to a patchlead, the ATU did it's job but put huge current through a relay contact. The attenuator fault usually happens when someone has another rig and transmits into an adjacent aerial... 73 de G0FVT

I have seen that happen before.... Years ago solid state high powered amps were hard to come by, so Ham's would use tube type amps..... Some Ham radios do not agree with certain tube type amps.... When you unkey the mike power can come back into the radio and fry , burn or weld relays.....

HELLO , have a YAESU FT1000MP (not mark5 ) , when turn on the transceiver, primary display reicever frequency sled, but the secondary display reicever still remain on the selected frequency . Can you suggest me where I can try to see into circuits of rtx, and possible cause of these malfunction? Many thanks advance, you if you did help me to resolve these problem. are you sure you were getting 12 volts through those wires at the end of the video and not 4 volts

Ugh, another shaky jake video. Jeez, how difficult can it be to put the camera on a tripod? I had to bail out after 2 minutes or get sea sick.

Sorry but this is an old video and this is not a high budget production. I have gotten better with that in my later videos.
