Love this radio! installed my in to a waterproof ammo container, detachable face made this possible, very easy to go portable and still have the option for added power for those times when you're working out of range distances from local repeaters...Again very good radio, easy to program, great reports, couldn't be happier~73, KK4FKS

it does. if you use one has a home channel or you keep one as a primary and it will monitor both frequencies. but you can only transmit on one

love my 7900. I only wish it had more than 50W on 2m... But other than that love it. Not a big area over hear for UHF, but most of our repeaters are linked here, so it's nice to be able to have on the radio, should something happen to my 2meter side of the radio. Thanks for sharing.

European ham gear comes with an so239 connector on the back Edit: I just bought one of these excellent radios (in England) , and it does indeed have an N.type connector on the rear

Radio still kicks ass. I don't think they program it. They mod the radio and ship it. I can help you with programming or you could purchase the data cable/software package for the radio. how you dooin

Hey, I'm new to ham radio. Starting to study to get my license. I'd like to get a 7900. I clicked on the link to buy it from that ebay seller in Greece, but it seems that seller isn't available anymore. Any suggestions on what is another good seller? Thanks!

Did they throw in a Gyro and a quart of yogurt? In the U.S. , it sells for $308 shipped so what did you save? I bet you paid a good piece of change to ship it here. When it comes time to sell it, good luck!

@cokeman250 I've seen some of your comments lately....a bit harsh. Looks like you need more Flouride in your diet.

whats the differance from gitting it from greece then the ham store here in the states also is there a desk mic. you can git for it to replace the hand mic. good vid. thanks john KK6MWX
@RayBecker10 жыл бұрын
you can't purchase a new, unlocked radio in the States that was manufactured for the Euro market. I do not know about using a desktop mic; I would guess that you would have to buy one from Yaesu if they even offer it
@johnnydecicco534310 жыл бұрын
thats what i thought that means you cant program it by hand you have to have the cable and disk
@RayBecker10 жыл бұрын

One of my favorite 2m/70cm radios. From reading the comments, it looks like you sold it (no idea why you'd do that haha). If you're ever interested in picking one up again, GigaParts is selling them for $279 shipped and they include the YSK-7800 remote mounting kit. www.gigaparts.com/Yaesu-FT-7900R.html How are your experiences with Pyramid power supplies? I use Astron, but Pyramid's price tags have always been appealing. One of my Elmers once told me when it comes to a power supply, you're going to get what you pay for. However, if they live up to their claims, I might just grab a few of those as well as I expand my collection.
