Hi I've got the Yaesu FT-950 and it's got the mod so it's opened and I have been on the 11 meters SSB for the last few months and it's been absolutely fantastic fun and I have made some fantastic contacts from across Europe and out in to Northern Africa out in the deserts and all that I used for the antenna was the G5RV Flexiweve Delux antenna in a inverted V in my back garden about 25 foot high off the floor but it seems to work great on the 11 meters and the SWR is always 1.0 every single time without fail so it's absolutely great. And I just want to say that please only use the original microphone with the Yaesu FT-950 because power microphones will blow the outputs and it will cost you like £60 for the outputs to be replaced so all that I'm saying here is to only use the microphone provided with the radio and if you want another microphone then go in to your local amateur radio shop and tell them that you've got a Yaesu FT-950 and you would like a microphone that's compatable for the radio and then you can decide on what to buy in the future if you do decide to get another microphone OK so all that I'm doing here is trying to help you out just in case you get any problems in the future that's all mate OK so if you need any further help from myself then please ask me at anytime about the Yaesu FT-950 and I'll see what I can do to help you out with your radio mate OK. Thanks you take care and I'll hope to speak to you sometime very soon then mate so please send me a message anytime OK cheers mate thanks. Stephen M3SNV 73's.
