Hey folks! This is the last of Yahtzee's interviews from E3 2019. We hope you enjoyed all the coverage we provided you. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive and we can't thank you enough for giving this new content a shot! We'll see how we can make our E3 2020 (if there is an E3) coverage even more fun next year. Yahtz, if you're reading this, sorry. The fans demand we sacrifice more of your cynical soul to the happy folk of E3. There's a couple more Gameumentary interviews to come and then we'll be all done with E3 coverage. OH! And be on the lookout for a little surprise Friday afternoon...

Nice job people! All of you. Your coverage for E3 was really good, and I really enjoyed it 👍. I hope Yahtzee will not have a hard time reviewing the games he covered here, now that he has been able to meet the developers. Keep it up, all of you!👍

Like Mark Kermode. Funniest thing is when he interviews some famous actor and then turns around and does a review of the movie where he just murders it.

It has jump scares in it. That's a big turn off for him. That, and he is usually wary of any game that uses lovecraft because it seems like it is trying to win nerd cred (kind of like throwing tesla into games). So it has potential, but not certain.

I wonder what the devs think of Yahtzee, if they see his reviews as charming, insightful, annoying, childish, or completely insignificant? Or some combination of. I’d almost like to hear devs review critics, that would be interesting if they were thoughtful about it.

Probably just as free publicity unless yahtzee really shits on it, since ZP is fairly popular and most people know not to take the verdicts at face value.

Years ago Yahtzee actually answered this question in an interview I caught. I'm paraphrasing obviously, but he said he usually gets along very well with developers - but not so much with publishers. Furthermore, developers of games he reviewed would often come to him and say that they informed their publishers of many of the problems that Yahtzee would bring up, and they would simply not be given the opportunity to fix them. It sounded like Yahtzee can sometimes be a validating force for devs who are frustrated and/or unsupported by their publisher.

Next year we won’t focus so much on the AAA stuff as there’s not very often a chance for interviews on those titles, and if there is it’s usually the PR person with prepped responses.
@BroadwayBrittany

Escapist Good! Besides, the AAA scene already has plenty of coverage and interviews as is-the indie games are the ones that really need these interviews to highlight their games. Plus, the developers tend to provide much more interesting commentary since their answers are allowed to be more honest and relaxed.

Based on what he's saying, I would say the answer is the monster jumps out and says boo. You have to love a non-committal answer like, "Oh, it's all of those things!" Yeah, just like Death Stranding isn't an action-adventure game, it's a never before seen "Strand Game"! I hate to ding the creative nature of development, but at the end of the day your game is about walking around and solving puzzles in a horror environment. You can put your own spin on that, but it still has actual mechanics the player experiences. That's how it will be described, and that's what Yahtzee was asking.

What is this nonsense, none of this stuff is in the finished game. Also, the graphics in this video looks 10x better than the final game. For example, there is NO scene in the game when you get stabbed with a knife. Something very weird going on, it feels like a bait and switch,
