Greg, I may have no room to speak on this, but if you keep saying you need a 21 incher, especially when all of your fish were in the 16-17 inch range, you need to get off the dropshot bite. A swimbait, jig, hell even a wacky rig has a better chance of getting those big fish to bite if you get it in front of them. You may have gone over some big ones and missed out.
@spinfish-43554 ай бұрын
Really, you’re telling GB how to catch the big ones to win tournaments? 😂😂 How long you been watching?

He was only off by 2 inches, you stick with what’s working, further more their spotted bass. Easy to say should have could have, but in the moment, it’s hard to put down what’s working. I’m not disagreeing with you, sure after your bag your limit it opens your ability to try other baits, and he very well may have. Just because we don’t see it doesn’t mean it didn’t happen it’s it’s 8 hours edited down to 25 minutes or so and your only seeing casts that catch fish or ones that got a bite but came off.

Another outstanding video great display of your tournament skills Greg. One thing I can say is when you fish the way you know how, rely on your instincts to make key decisions either to stay at one place or move to find another. There is no one else that does it better than you. You concentrate on your abilities your strengths and strong angler intuitions on how you perform on the lake and pull off the top ten with no practice just brilliant sir. I had to wait to watch this video until I got off work, had to work early and tweet Greg is out on the lake doing what most guys would love to be doing the end result is quite satisfying to the soul . Keep it up Greg do what you love to do and reach the reach the stars of the angler world cause I’ll still be watching and rooting you on and someday it would be very humbling to be fishing in the same lake your on and to shake your hand and say thank you so much for your inspiration until the next video take care and God bless!

There's these new studies for bass that are coming out that show Bass dont migrate NEARLY as much as we thought they did. Most bass will swim one area of the lake their entire life. Instead of moving from deep into shallow arms all over the lake like we thought, it shows that they actually use the same arm of a lake for all of the season cycles. They just migrate from the shallow parts of that arm to the main lake, then back up. Even during winter bass can be caught swimming around in the shallows. Its kind of amazing new stuff.
@marcusgarcia5044 ай бұрын
One amazing fish in this study, the one who "traveled" the most. Was actually the biggest fish they had on record. And they think that the biggest fish in the lakes are the ones who venture out. Which is why they continue to out grow their peers.
@marcusgarcia5044 ай бұрын
basically what im saying is. Youre not wrong for staying near the main lake. You just gotta find the group that owns that arm for the decade.

Hey Greg a little tip I could give on the whole bed fishing thing is find a white jerk bait that sings and ad single hooks so you don’t have to worry about snagging with the trebles and you can get that jerk bait to really sit in the bed and it has seemed to get a lot of those finicky bed fish for me

Hey Greg, another great video! Thank you. Glad to see you're still learning how to make adjustments. Looked like after your adjustment you had a lost less frustrating day. Quick question on your launch trailer. Where did you get it, what's it called? I've been looking at a couple of them but like yours that's able to be towed. I don't have the room at my house for another trailer, but something like that would be nice for getting in and out without taking up a bunch of room on the ramp. Thanks!

Thru the complexity of the sport, we sometimes forget that when we simply "pull" into a fish with a closed mouth, even w/light wire hooks, often times the bait, sinker or hook will only get pulled against the inside of it's closed mouth without actually getting the hook in the fish, and when the fish opens its mouth...

Opening scene, don’t you have packable rain gear?. Personally, I have a 20 year old Simms lightweight rain jacket (windbreaker) and same rain pants, that bundle up in a ball. Whenever there is a chance for rain when in higher elevations I always make sure I carry them in my dry bag that I pack. Is your truck a RAM? If it is, I have a RAM 2019 Big Horn 4x4, with the raisable center armrest. But like Santa, I want to put a shell on it like I have all my previous trucks, so I can truck camp when I finally get my kayak “tuned-in” and ready for tournament life.

I'm no pro, but as someone else said. If you're looking for a 21" kicker fish, the odds of it coming on the bait that has hooked up 14-16" fish consistently all day are slim. The drop shot can and has caught big fish, but it was showing it wasn't a big fish bait that day. You limited out with the drop shot and caught countless dinks on the drop shot. Those large mouth were there, but they were looking for a different presentation. Time to pick up a big fish bait. I'd rather throw a jig, spinnerbait, bladed jig, swimbait, or crankbait hoping for one good bite; than get a dozen small bites, hoping one is good. Kicker fish need kicker baits. Just my 2 cents.
@garysims44914 ай бұрын
if you ever tournament fished its hard to do that when you are getting action on the drop shot he proly even tried other things just didnt make the edit lol think about it
@TimHaunFishing4 ай бұрын
@garysims4491 I have fished a few, but it is that very limited experience that I formulated my opinion from. I have little I can tell Greg about fishing. But sometimes a little outside perspective (like people telling him to tighten his drag) can give a lot of insight.
