This story reminds me of my first ride in an airplane. There were 3 of us in the 10th grade (1950). I loved planes and talked my two friends Cruz and Manuel to go watch planes at a local airport. On a whim, I decided to approach a pilot working on his plane and ask him what it would cost to take us on a ride. We had about $6-7 between us. The pilot grinned and agreed to take us up for a short ride. It took awhile to get us up and going... we were mesmerized by the plane and preparations. This pilot knocked himself out showing us many features of our Los Angeles harbor communities. We asked him if he could show us our neighborhoods...no problem, he flew us over our homes! I am sure the pilot was enjoying himself from the thrills we were having and instead of the 15 minutes flying, we got about 40 in the air. We were just 3 poor Mexican-American Barrio boys out on my whim to visit an airport. My friend, Cruz became an engineer. Manuel a HS teacher and coach. Myself, A doctoral degreed professor and social scientist. To me, that pilot did a kindness that definitely pushed me in "upwards" directions. I never got his name, but God bless his memory whoever he was. p.s. I am now 88 yrs old retired well with my 88 yo wife that I married at age 20. We had 3 wonderful kids and despite age related health issues, are as happy as humming birds among our flowers. Thanks for reading.
No thank you for your story. It’s a wonderful one Glad you’ve reached days days of wonder in your 80s. I’m 72 and hope I’m around for an older healthful age as yourself

You just made me cry happy tears! That’s a wonderful story, thank you for sharing it! As you wrote it, it sounds like so far you’ve had a life that’s full and beautiful, though probably also with some struggles and times of darkness, but it’s amazing to hear about lives like this. To know that kind of thing exists. I hope you and yours are all still as happy as hummingbirds, and continue to be.

The Russian Yak-52 sports training aircraft was created in the Yakovlev Design Bureau in 1974 on the basis of the Yak-50 aerobatic aircraft. The Yak-52 has become the only training sports and aerobatic aircraft in the world that can train a pilot from scratch and bring him to the level of a master of sports in aerobatics. Interesting fact: In Christopher Nolan's Dunkirk, the Spitfire planes are actually converted Yak-52s

That is because the canopy is open. If you have ever stuck your head out the car window you know how it feels almost hard to breath. The yawns come because the brain do not get enough oxygen for awhile and you yawn. It is not dangerous but that cause yawns. So it have nothing to do with her being tired or bored.

When I first started watching and saw you heading back I thought, that wasn't very long. But as the video progressed I realised you knew exactly what you were doing. She had, had a ball, not gotten sick and flown through a few basic maneuvers not gotten sick . Its time to head back, because If you kept flying all the adrenaline and emotions would have caught up and shed start getting a bitvwarm, then nausea would start in and she'd end the trip sick. No, your timing was perfect and she'll be excited to go again and you'll be able to take her up a bit longer. BTW, how old was Irene when this was filmed in 2014? I figured she's about the age of my granddaughter Stalee who just turned 12. Has Irene flown more since this?

This is so beautiful. Just the expression on the girls face-really adorable! In Lithuania, children way under 14 learn how to fly ultralight gliders. I have even seen a very old video showing a little girl flying a homemade hang glider towed by two adults with one rope tied to each wingtip. Just the happy look of that girl warms my heart. One should never NEVER underestimate children. And one should NEVER overprotect them. If you really love your child (and feel responsible for it), you should learn to let him or her go in order to let the child make it's own experience. You can mininize the risks in their live, but can't always protect your child. You can teach your children to look out-that's all! Period! An overprotected child will never make the experience how it is to really live-even if live is risky. Flying might be even less dangerous then riding a bycicle in the streets with all the idiots around who should't get a drivers license in the first place, or going to an unsafe place like an average american school with all the american mentally ill gun owners-or even beeing a lady walking in the streets at night....

@@grandcelebration2233 Very unlikely. The nasal passages have to adjust with altitude changes and if they aren't completely open and free to do so, yawning is a typical way to try to relieve the sensation. She doesn't appear to have any other symptoms and was doing what people normally do. She may have even been instructed to do that in advance. In my experience with passengers the need to equalize is only occasionally and loosely correlated with any sense of air sickness and even that usually passes fairly quickly once in smooth air or on the ground.

I would have liked to see a shot of the plane so maybe the thumbs down were for such a small detail. I smiled the whole time at such a cutie getting a ride of her life. I guarantee she'll never forget this day.

(Czech lang.) Super video... Trochu jsem se o tu dívku bál, ale byla úžasná i odvážná zároveň... Přeji vám hodně štěstí nejen při létání a posílám pozdrav z letiště Praha (LKPR).
