Scary great technique, clean as a whistle and with an interesting connection to HOROWITZ because he has this same trait of the little finger on his right hand also being curled up until it is ready to strike. There are so many great pianists today, including very young children which a great tribute to the quality of instruction which is available today in all the music schools and the private teachers.

@@twaoum6561 NO kidding! I attended a recital by Panayis Lyras in Royce Hall at UCLA once upon a time. I wasn't a student there; it was just a prominent classical music venue. I just looked up the program in my files and I still had it. Unfortunately, it doesn't give the year! It simply says, "Sunday, February 14." But it must have been in the mid to late eighties. I thought I remembered that this was his West Coast debut, but the bio says that he debuted at Ambassador Auditorium two years before. I can give you his program lineup, if you like. I thought he gave a wonderful concert, which received a very favorable review in the LA Times by Albert Goldberg, I think. I don't know whether I've heard of him since, however.

I learned so much from him in the 2years I studied with him, although I’m one of his weak students.😅 Others are those who played Liszt b minor sonata🥹while I played sonetti. It was a wonderful time. No acknowledgment that Kasman is playing Horowitz' ending. Notice also that Kasman makes it sound manic rather than charming.

The mic is WAY to close to the piano. It would sound so much better with at least some reverb. Please fire the recording engineer because the sound is awful!

Agreed. His execution is superb. And his sparing use of the pedal makes it even more difficult to pull off. Horowitz sat on the pedal from the first note on. Horowitz was a flamboyant entertainer who "worked" the audience as much as he displayed a dazzling technique. I have all his performances of this piece and they are all over the place. @@LC-bb6kn
