I bought that combo when I first started fishing because my buddy wanted me to go to the lake with him and I didn't want to spend a bunch of money. I caught mad bluegill on some nightcrawlers but haven't touched it since. . .because I got addicted to fishing and bought a bunch of Lew's combos lol. It was my gateway combo.

I used to go past the eagle claw plant when I lived in Denver almost twenty years ago. Yes I used 5'6" spinning rods from eagle claw that were freakin awesome for trout fishing. Now I use at least seven foot rods.

I use the rod but put a Kastking Sepher 1000 on it. Works like a charm. And its more of a L-UL rod really. Definitely not a Medium. But good for finesse, small pond and creek fishing.

I grew up fishing Eagle Claw shit here in Best Virginia. All the local gas stations carry it for some reason. Most of it is junk but when you're a broke 16 year old it'll make due lol. Its still on every shelf around here.
