Vexler Vitoz no, it’s not. Laikas are not just one breed, it’s a group of them, and huskies technically (as some experts think) are laikas too,while border-collies are not.

BEAUTIFUL!! I've INSTANTLY fallen in love with the breed! My ONLY concern is that before getting a breed like these that they do their RESEARCH FIRST!! I have a Yakut husky. Her name is Chara (this is the area near Yakutia). I know for a fact that they are the most beautiful dogs. Incredibly smart, beautiful, kind. I have puppies and they are always different colors, faces and character. Very versatile.I think this breed will soon receive recognition and love all over the world!

They are more hunting then sledding dogs, but universal dogs. Used to sled and hunt. Yakuts will go hunting and use their sled dogs for this. Good for hunting small animals for fur, bear, fox, dear and even a wild boar. Laikas always approach a bear from the back to bite its tail so it will take attention away from the hunter and for the bear to stand up, for the hunter to take a shot. The dogs are absolutely fearless.

They have to hunt and they bred to hunt bears for their fat so Yakuts would survive the winter. and cold. They use it as remedy against cold, flue and everything in between.The same as aboriginals in north used to hunt buffalos.

Most people can't keep up with the energetic Huskies so I don't think The laikas will fair much different luck...since lots of people are not active pet owners...but the are beautiful 💕💕💕

We just got our boy from my aunt (a registered and reputable breeder of Samoyeds) and he’s amazing he’s part of the first litter of Yakutian laikas in Canada! Caspian is a handful but they’re such a loving and loyal breed definitely an active lifestyle needed though!

I can tell, same breed in a different country will look different and be different, yesterday I met 12 year old male white and gold color Laika, near Russia, and it looked a lot more like wolf, by mentality and phisically. Dogs will always feel the energy of people around, thus this will determine their temperament and intelligence.

I'm very interested in this breed, thank you for mentioning them because i never heard of this specific breed until you showed me, the history behind them is very interesting and I'm going to have to do research on them myself. They look very beautiful, especially with those blue eyes they look very similar to husky's and act like them a bit in my opinion. I'll might look into getting this beautiful dog whenever I can, but I got to make sure I practice saying that name because if someone ask me what type of dog I have I pronounce it right lol. *Great episode Anneka*

In Siberia Yakutia they are also used in hunting.They can also herd rein-deers in tundra Universal dogs And huskies only in sled. I heard huskies and laikas blood relatives But huskies have wolf blood a bit i think. I am from Siberia Yakutsk😊👋
